Virtual and Social Media of Wikis One of the best and most popular forms of virtual and social media is the Wikis. Wikis is a new technology that aims to provide internet users with a more interesting experience by being informative as well as interactive. By accessing wikis, browsers do not only get to view the information. They also get the chance to actively participate in building up new information by typing in their inputs and researches. Wikis is actually a software which allows users to create, edit and modify web contents using any mobile browser.

Authors use this software when they wish to come up with collaborative websites that freely discusses issues and topics, available in the web or just within intranet access. Wikis are hosted by a third party, and is largely popular for people who like to browse, input comments on certain topics and share information through simple means. The creation of wikis mainly caters to audience who want to have a chance to interact in particular web contents. People practice virtual and social media communication by accessing wikis.

Wikis are made to help people come to know about things he has least knowledge about. It also empowers viewers to remove from the site they are viewing topics which they consider off. People interact with each other by sharing information, comments and suggestions through this software. People then get the chance to add on to their knowledge, but also develop their interactive skills when accessing Wikis. On a personal level, wikis enhance communication and interaction among web fanatics. On a business level, wikis enable companies to develop networks which consequently simplify work and increase productivity.

Businesses gain inputs from viewers while getting important messages across the targeted group, giving them a chance to successfully market their products, services or even ideas. Bigger companies use Wikis to collaborate with clients and manage production on major projects. Wikis, as in any other technology, has its strengths and downsides. One of its strengths lies on the fact that it serves its purpose very well, it is very engaging and it never fails to trigger participation from the target audience.

Information written on the web may by altered or modified by anyone. It is useful as well as easy to use; it is not structured or prohibiting. It enhances interaction, and gives the audience the enjoyment of participating in information sharing. Wikis are also very flexible. It bends according to the needs of the user. However, the free nature of this software has its downsides as well. Basically, since everyone has the right to edit contents, multiple ideas from different people tend to dishevel information, making it confusing for the rest of the people viewing the site.

Information gets to be distorted, and people may actually get the wrong picture of whatever it is that is being discusses. Wikis is a growing technology, and this software is widely used among individuals, be it professionals or students, and by groups and even in businesses. The easy nature of this software makes it very user friendly. It informs the audience as well as engages them to participate. It is good tool in such a way that it allows people to manage web contents the easiest way possible.

It connects people and makes them relay to each other certain information at a personal level.
