The story has a negative effect as it brings on the memories of bullying in childhood years.

The story reminds us that we need to face pressure in challenges in early life to suit the interest of others. We can see the imaginative mind of children at a younger age and how they fantasize to fly and enjoy in the world. The Pony is a symbol of the fantasy of children and how they interact with animals at a tender age. The story shows that children at a young age face peer pressure and discrimination from their counterparts. Kij wants to point out that friendship is important at young age and children want to enjoy it. But many times, they are threatened by their peers which can force them to change themselves and this can bring about a negative effect on their life.
