911 Health Care Services Corporation is the driving force behind the 911 Emergency Health Care System. The function of the system is to reduce the time in getting the personal information of a patient and administering emergency care services, which will be done through scanning of the eye. Retinal Scanning Technology is an existing product being used for Biometrics and employee identification, particularly for high-risk areas. In fact, it was discovered as early as 1976 (Retinal Scan 2011). In the medical field, this technology is now being used for diagnostic purposes as some sicknesses may be identified through obvious changes in one’s retina.

The idea of creating such a system was facilitated by intersectional thinking, as My EHCS integrates the current functionalities of this retinal technology with the aim to particularly serve the need of the health care segment to come up with an accurate but fast way to do patient identification. According to the Medici Effect’s author “intersections are that moment where different cultures, disciplines, and domains combine to establish new concepts or ideas”. By Johansson’s definition, the intersection is the first step of crossing creative ideas, which is highly influenced by an individual’s background, education, knowledge, beliefs, and past experiences, in our case, it was influenced by our CEO’s passion for the health care field.

The innovation that will be introduced is the software and database part, which would enable this technology to store more data than usual and link this data to an identified person. Software is covered by a license, and prior to prototyping, a User Acceptance Test will be conducted to ensure that the product goals are met. The same is true for every software enhancement that would be done depending on the needs of customers and market trends. 911 Health Care Services is proud to present the newest innovation in patient identification and medical history storage- My 911 EHCS.
