My Takeaways-Globalization Globalization is the process of integration of worldviews, products, ideas, people and their cultures. The process of globalization started when the interconnectedness of peoples started though many scholars are of the opinion that a truly typical globalization is observable in modern times. This integration was brought on by enhancements in infastrsture in the area of communication, travel, economic activities and cultural activities between the people of the world, which has turned the world into a global village. The term globalization was coined and came into use around the eighties and nineties. It was given better clarification by the IMF who understood it to mean the migration and movement of people, trade, sharing and dissemination of knowledge and transaction. These processes in the world have affected climate, environment, trade,education,migration, social-cultural, legal and justice issues, food security, culture, launguages,health, technology, innovation and economic issues on a global level. Justice However, every people group has its own version and definition of justice and law there is an increasingly growing pressure around the world to bring some a global justice system in place (Franck, 1992).There are groups who advocate for better trading to keep a check on institutions so that those who are at a disadvantage in the world for whatever reason are not taken advantage of by others due to their vantage points in the economic scale. Many stakeholders who stand to profit from global trading often view these groups as having an anti-globalization agenda. In their defense, these groups say that they are only looking out for the interests of the disadvantaged in society by checking the spread and over dominance of corporate power brought on by monopolization of industries by seeking social justice for all globally. They play an important role in the furtherance of human rights, human dignity, and equity in the society on a global scale. The ironic part of it all is that their activities are also global due to their activity around the world (Altman, 2009). They act more like the global social police of globalization in the economic world. These groups are also concerned as a matter of course with e social inequality that exist between the nations of the world especially in second and third world economies in Africa and Asia. They have become very popular and many of them well known such as the Red Cross, Care International, and many others that are non-profit organizations that work toward the bettering of the human condition. They partner with local governments and other interested stakeholders to better the lives of disadvantaged people by improving their living conditions through improving infrastructure, provision of water and sanitation facilities, building health facilities, providing legal counsel, education, and other relevant aid an need be. The historical events in the world influenced some areas of the world to reduce poverty and disease while others did not move at the same pace. Development happened on an uneven basis with researches advancing different reasons for the need of advancements by some civilizations and, ,the lack for it by some like unfavorable climatic conditions. This made adaption and improvement in order to survive versus favourable warm climatic conditions that did not call out the survival instincts and that causes apathy in development and, innovation as there was no need to adapt and change. The level of development in a society influences life expectancy and, this, is one of the areas that inequality exists. Social justice demands a redistribution of wealth through different avenues such as taxation in an attempt to bring equity. The effects of globalization have seen the expansion of labor markets, have been exploited for economic gain by corporates. This is another area that displays social injustice, and inequality and that is a target by global justice. Others include prostitution, child labor, gender inequality and exploitation, human rights violations and abuse of public resources. Sports The place of international sports has changed with general rules and standards being set up to govern its activities and those of the member states that participate in them. Sports can influence the status of a country’s image in the international arena in the area of politics, identity and relations to other countries. Sports are big business for countries that host them and boost their economies through tourism and other business related areas. This makes competition for hosting sports very stiff and the criteria’s put up by the sports bodies very detailed and rigid. In fact, many of these bodies have used their criteria to reform the politics and human violating laws through censure or expulsion of non-compliant countries. The Olympic Games, the World cup are two of the truly global sporting events that have really had a global attendance and global influence. The positive contributions of these games have been increased development and stimulus to the host counties economy as well as of the winning participants. There have also been some negative effects such as displacement of people to make way for the construction of sports facilities and, other relevant facilities that are relevant to hosting the games such as roads, hotels, hospitals, etc who mainly came from disadvantaged groups. Sports also promote companies that manufacture television sets and other electronic media due to the demand for such devices in order to watch the games. It is also an opportunity for the host country to market itself globally in whatever field they excel in in terms of trade and economic activity. Trade The exchange of goods, capital, and services across international borders has been present and active throughout man’s history I trade. International trade has increased in modern times due to developments and improves in the infrastructure, communication, transport, better economic and political ties and trading blocs that have unified currencies. Relative peace has prevailed in the modern times, which has allowed for better global markets for goods, services and capital. The influence of the internet and aggressive marketing campaigns across borders has exposed consumers to goods and services that are not available in their own country and to a wider variety of those that are. Imports and exports of all countries have greatly increased with the demand for goods and services on a global scale. This has seen to the birth of multinational corporations, globalized business, technology that is more advanced and innovation, more advanced transportation modes and infrastructure and increased industrialization. The increase of international trade is what increases globalization. Religion Religion has mostly been spread though the interaction of people groups in their normal activities such as trade, migration and politics. Many ancient religions were state or communal in nature and were therefore practiced by the whole community unlike the contemporary times. Many ancient religions are now on the rise due to a renewed interest in the religion of the ancients. Geographic locations also influenced the nature of many regions and their practice as many borrowed from each other such as the eastern religions. Now, in the contemporary times religions are spreading through the internet, television and written materials such as books and periodicals on a global level. Most religions are now more than veering able to evangelize through mass media and to travel to different parts of the world in search of converts. Even virtually unheard of cults and religions have come out into the light due to academic research into religions and have been globalized though by sheer accident and not by the adherents efforts. Conclusion Globalization is a process of integrating worldviews through the exchange of products, ideas, people and their cultures across international boundaries and territories. Justice is one of the areas in which globalization has had an effect as people for different people groups interact with the justice systems and operations of legal systems in different parts of the world. This interaction has brought to the fore the variance in some of the justice systems as different people group have own version and definition of justice and law. Even so, there is a growing pressure around the world to bring some sort of harmonization to the global justice system in place across the world. The place of international sports in globalization has been its influence in enforcing general rules and standards which were established with the sole purpose of upholding human dignity and human rights up to govern its activities and those of the member states that participate in them. Sports have influenced the status of a country’s image. This has even merged with a countries global ability to do international trade, which is another area that has influenced and promoted globalization in the international arena in the area of politics, identity and relations to other countries the exchange of goods, capital, and services across international borders has been present and active throughout man’s history in trade.
