SUPPLY CHAINS AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT College Supply chain risks interfere and disrupt important firm dealings and business. They are liabilities to companies and could cause losses on those companies when they happen. These risks are especially rampant in the technology industry and could arise in forms of fraud among others. To thwart supply chain risks it is important to implement a supply risk awareness process in the firm. This ensures that the workers, customers and parties involved in the supply chain are well informed to take the necessary precaution where risks are apparent.

Awareness promotes transparency and develops the confidence of people involved in supply strategies; this creates a good network of responsiveness toward risks. These risks could involve counterfeiting of mobile phone devices and their software as well as material losses of goods in transit.Measure should be taken to encourage good delivery, whether physical or intellectual. It is therefore for staff involved in the supply chain to be well motivated. Of essence is a platform of data sharing, where records and histories can be tracked.

It is important to know who amended what and where they made their amends. These track records keep the entire system in check in case there is need to work a risk deductively. It ensures efficiency and risk reduction and fewer mistakes are made. The management should as well maintain hawk eye watch on their entire supply process to realize risks to sort them as fast as possible (Sara, & Pauline, 2001).Power disruption can be a source of interference with the delivery process and the entire supply system.

It is advisable for the company to have a backup system to reduce on the losses imparted during periods when they happenFirms should protect useful information concerning the systems of developing mobile phone devices during the supply process. This is because there is need to avert creation of counterfeit material that could lower the quality of the original material in the market. Counterfeit products have been created for fraudulent activities. To avoid exposing the supply chain of a firm is also a good measure in risk reduction.

This aids in avoiding fixations by counterfeit products and maintains the discretion of a firm.Counterfeits would require that firms develop their own defensive systems in software. These systems are an assurance of quality production and security, this way harm on the customers and firms in the long run is avoided. Firms also aid in the maintaining of their products by advising their customers accordingly.Supply chains are affected by natural calamities and it is important during the initial stages of establishment that a firm considers its location.

For example Japans earthquake lead to great losses by companies dealing with electronic products. The markets of certain products demand that the firms producing them be located strategically. For example establishing a mobile phone supply chain to reach remote areas could be more of a liability than profit maximizing since the costs are high and the returns are low.Insurance is an essential bit of every aspect of risk management. To avoid major losses during transportation of products or storage, insurance cover is advisable on a long term basis.

It is vital to review the process over time to ensure its credibility. The system should be developed to maintain good standards of production that will keep it going.BibliographyCHOPRA, S., & MEINDL, P. (2001). Supply chain management: strategy, planning, and operation. Upper Saddle River, N.J., Prentice Hall.
