About a Personal ment Prompt A person is what he/she is made by the society, environment, personal interest, family background and other such major traits-deciding forces. There is a need in every human being that he/she wishes to fulfill at any point of life and if it is supported by the personal circumstances and other guiding factors, the hunt for this personal goal will become even more intensified. There are many such examples of people becoming great leaders in the world and developing into entities that decide and influence the history of humanity as such. Everybody has this urge within and people, these days, want to become more self-realized as they are inspired by the fast growth of the world and its culture. I recognize this urge within every human by the example of my life and wishes. I finished my schooling from Irvine and now I’ve completed my two years program in Irvine Valley College. I possess a great strong interest in pursuing business major in International Business at UC Riverside. Let me make it very clear that my interest is not something that developed all of a sudden or without the right reasons. As I stated above, there are certain guiding factors or some decision making forces in everyone’s life that strongly motivates that person in pursuing some higher faculty of life. I can very well identify this force in my life as my family background. I hail from Hong Kong and my family is involved in international business with Japan. Born and brought up in such a background and living in the atmosphere of that international business and its spirit as I am, it would not be of any surprise for you that I plan to pursue a major in International Business. Right from my childhood onward, I was attracted and influenced by the concept of international business and I have always considered this as one of the important means of being an international citizen, working for the cause of a global community. It is also the best way for one to stay related with the international people to think beyond the limitations of geographical boundaries. In my family, I have witnessed the spirit of those people who work in collaboration with the people of other nations and their lives are indicators to all those things that I can achieve by pursuing this major. There is every possibility that I can, at the completion of this major, work in my favorite area with the assistance of my family. Nobody in this profession can survive with the mere knowledge of the course materials and a certificate. More importantly, one needs to have the right experience of the things around that make the business possible. Apart from my family background, I was also fortunate in gaining the same experience when I worked in one of the restaurants as a waiter. I can prove that it was a significant experience for me as a potential business person and this opportunity to work in the restaurant helped me to understand the nature of different types of customers and I learned a lot about dealing with the customers, which I think will be of great help to me in my future endeavors. Another important experience I gained was from my working at a computer technological company as a tech support. I was fortunate in getting enough insight as a computer expert and I also learned much as part of a technical support team. There was much in my favor in the growth of my business spirit as well. Thus, the practical experience also helped me in my interest in pursuing the major. However, the family background of mine as an international business family is the prime motivator, and I am very convinced that this will support me greatly in my future prospects. Prompt #2 In my view, everything that makes a man is the variety of his experience and personal quality that incorporates the behavioral, temperamental, emotional and mental aspects. I consider myself as a person who pursues the higher faculties in himself and I have always worked for the accomplishment of such characteristics in my personality as well. Thus, I have always found the significance of personal dealings with others as one of the major qualities of an individual. The realization that a person’s being is primarily determined by others and his or her dealings with others has greatly influenced my character and personality. I consider that personal dealing with others will be natural and successful when a person has the right content within. That means the quality of a person is determined by the inner self of that person. So, if a person wants to achieve success in his dealings with others, first of all, he/she needs to fill himself/herself with the characteristic features of human nature. I have identified many such characteristic features in my personality. Sincerity and openness to others can be of great importance in one’s successful relation with others. It is only the credibility of a person’s character that supports him in the times of misery. Only a person of sincere behavior with others can survive in the world and, as I strongly feel, one cannot always misguide others or cannot always remain inside a mask. At some moment in life a person will reveal his true self and that moment will decide his life. This has been one of the guiding principles of my life and I cherish to have the right quality in my sincerity and openness to others. This is one of qualities that I have strived for and I am happy that I have a good credibility of being sincere. It is after a long time’s hard and sincere efforts that I gained this credibility and this fact makes me even happier. In my short life, I have witnessed the lives of many who have failed utterly in their business and life only because they lacked sincerity. The sudden change in fortune of one of my uncle’s friend is a clear indicator that one cannot always be successful without ever having sincerity. He gained much wealth and position because he was not sincere in business. He played trick on my uncle pretending to be sincere. The illegal ways of amazing the profit share of the business were revealed later. The trust was broken as his insincerity in the business matters were gradually found out. He ultimately paid the price of being insincere and it was a hefty price. I can understand the same as the repay of everyone who is insincere life and business. These types of experience with sincerity and its importance made me believe in this quality of life and influenced me in gaining this great characteristic.
