The Development of India and China India and China are two nations which have a lot in common. Both these countries have huge populations within their folds – approximately 2.5 billion out of the total 7 billion world population. Both the countries have economic upheaval within their ranks and the fact that these economies are booming on a consistent basis adds up to their success within the different fields of life as well. The democratic and institutional building is immensely significant within India and China since both these nations are trying their best to let the world know what exactly their due potential is. Since India and China are a part of the Asian bloc, the importance of this continent has risen steadily. The similarities and differences between Indian and Chinese patterns of growth rely heavily on the manner the two have understood the historical bases that are tied with the respective nations. (Harding, 2004) Both India and China have emphasized on the need to join the Information Technology bandwagon and for the same, the efforts have been magnanimous right from the onset. The developments within other fields have also been targeted towards building the capacity regimes in the nations as well as exploiting the best use of available resources. The development has thus been manifested in a very proper and adequate way and the fact that both India and China have been successful over a considerable period of time, does not raise any eyebrows whatsoever. The accomplishment has been largely credited on the shoulders of hard work, commitment and complete devotion towards different fields of life, both within India and China. The Chinese Revolution and the Indian Democracy have played their pivotal role at making one and all understand the exact basis of success and triumph that has taken place in the two nations. The Chinese Revolution turned around the country for the better, gave them a platform to build their strengths and provided a strategic vision to choose what is best for the Chinese of the time. Similarly, the democratic regimes within India are the strongest within the world. (Brown, 1912) Indian democracy is regarded as the most powerful one in the entire world and hence there is enough reason for one to understand that India is indeed a successful country at the end of the day. The growth has come about with the democratic institutions helping the government on a proactive basis. (Yuan, 2003) There has been facilitation from the different quarters as concerns the establishment of links between different political groups, democratic institutions and so on – the end result of which is an Indian democracy which is vibrant, promising and geared to touch the top levels in the years to come. Thus both the Chinese Revolution and the Indian Democracy have actually provided the roadmap upon which success can be written. What is needed is an earnest effort by the rest of the world to accept the might of these two nations and even if they do not do so in the present times, they are sure to change their thinking mechanisms in the times to come, rest assured. (Nee, 1979) Both India and China have had mixed relations with the West. The two nations have often found it hard to make their voices get heard. However times are changing and it is expected in the near future that more attention would be paid to both India and China by not only the West but also the rest of the world. The reason for the same is that the Chinese economy is expected to become the No. 1 economy in the world in the next decade or so and the way the Indian Information Technology market is shaping up, this country will go places sooner rather than later. (Tang, 1999) India and China have struggled for their success and this has happened because hard work and total adherence to getting things done within the stipulated time has been the key all these years. Both the countries understand that the West is important and thus the two have given the West what it has richly deserved. Both India and China are part of the biggest treaties, world bodies and signatory organizations of the world and hence the significance comes automatically. The relations of India and China with the West though have changed since the 1950s. India gained its independence in 1947 and China gained soon after. (Sharma, 2002) Both the nations became free and thus set about exploring their might in a rigorous fashion. Both the economies focused on building growth within their circles and thus the ball kept rolling as far as the development angle is concerned. The results came out in the earlier parts of 1990s decade when India and China were declared as the most attractive markets within the world to invest within. Also the way the foreign investments made their way in India and China is something to write home about. The Gulf riches and the British experience came to the rescue of the Indian infrastructure which by this time was splendid in its own right. These Chinese however focused their attention towards doing everything themselves and thus the result came out in the form of a nation which has no equals all over the world. The current dominant powers of the world include the superpower nation of the world – the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and to some extents Japan too, due to its economic success and infrastructural benchmarks. Now with the advent of India and China within these folds, the world has seen new entrants. The approach has been aggressive by both these nations, which in essence is promising for the league of powerful nations of the world. (Turcq, 1995) However the mightiest of the lot are not quite at home with the rise in different fields of life for both India and China. They are having difficulty accepting India and China, essentially from the Asian bloc to come within their folds. They have still not digested the fact that Japan has re-built itself in such a manner that it is one of the most vibrant economies of the world now. One should not forget that in 1945 Japan was bombed beyond belief by the United States of America – at the end of the World War II. (Pearce, 1986) The development of India and China will promote international stability to the world if seen in a broader perspective. However if the mighty nations of the world do not want these two nations to enter within the top notch folds, then there are problems written for them, left, right and center. Much skepticism is thus the order of the day as far as the role of India and China is concerned. (Hong, 2007) The two nations need to align in such a way that the world finds them enticing from a number of different angles. These could include the trade regimes, the infrastructural development, the capacity building measures, the rise of the Information Technology facets and lastly the economic settings which must remain at par with that of Japan and the United States of America in the coming future. India and China offer so much to the world that the world has to only accept the endless opportunities coming its way. The need is to understand what these two nations can do and how they will go about doing the same.
