First Experiences in College Introduction College education is an invaluable aspect of development in the society. Early Days in college are most demanding times for every student. It can be fun but coupled with the several challenges because of changes and differences emanating from high school to college transition. My first days in college were not exceptional; they were equally challenging. Thesis For most students joining college, their perception of the issue is that, these early days may actually be difficult to tolerate.

Connecting with the audience The transition from high school to college however, if positively perceived, is crucial especially to an individual’s development and social aspects. Preview Today, I will outline how an individual can deduce strategies to handle demanding and sensitive life experiences during the transition from high school to college. Body Personal Narrative An example of a common difficulty experienced by students in their first days is solitude when they still lack friends.

Students have uneasy times, usually dealing with strangers and possible humiliations that they may face. Cultural diversity among the students who are strangers can cause tension. Racial tensions, for instance, are common among new college students (German 155). Interaction among the students may encourage interpersonal efficacy, betterment of self-confidence and self-awareness (Burks 110). During my first days, I maintained openness and, therefore, managed to make friends. In cases when a student does not have any familiar person studying in the college, he or she may experience isolation (German 156).

Isolation may result to other detrimental emotional conditions. Time management without factors compelling students is another issue they find challenging during their first days in college. It is a student’s absolute responsibility to be disciplined to master the essence of proper time management, which is crucial to success in college education. I learnt that responsibility is an invaluable virtue for every college student. Conclusion Massive workload in college education is difficult to deal with for many students.

Further students joining college may find some faculties more challenging than expected. The fact that students and teacher interaction is reduced is difficult for most students who find it difficult to do study independently.
