NCIS Honors Intern Program PREFERENCES: NCIS Headquarters Assignments 1. Cold Case Homicide Branch 2. Polygraph Services Division 3. Death Investigations Unit NCIS Field Office Assignments 1. NCIS Field Office Carolina (CALE) - General Crimes Unit 2. NCIS Resident Agency New London CT (NENL) - General Crimes Unit Growing up in the United States of America has made me appreciate the vitality of security as one of the intrinsic and most fundamental human needs, in total agreement with Abraham Maslow. In a country that has become a main target for terrorists, and where technological advancements are made almost every split second, with the accompanying potential of being misused to cause great harm to innocent and unsuspecting people, one begins to appreciate just how important a dynamic security force is.  This realization in part has contributed to my desire to be part of the systematic and organized team of individuals working to protect the wider society from harm. A critical analysis and summary of my talents, experiences, and likes have led me to a point of confidence; that I am moving towards what I would really like to be - in alignment with my natural strengths and abilities. I have strong analytical and problem solving skills, exceptional work ethics, a keen eye for details and take great responsibility for all that I decide to do or pursue. I have a great liking for physical exercises, and objectively wish to engage in law enforcement and crime investigation. In an effort to discover who I am and what I am meant to be in life, I have read a variety of books, listened to motivational speakers and watched keenly what goes on around me. Without any doubt, I have discovered that each person is unique and hence must live on purpose – I being no exception. Acting upon this truth I have discovered, over time, through my likes, dislikes, interests and preferences my strengths, weaknesses, potential and most important - purpose in life. My love for security operations and systems started growing long ago. As a child in primary school I often got captivated by movies and dramas that involved crime investigation. I have ever since undertaken several courses that are focused more on solving problems that are related to security and law enforcement. My passion for working against crime, in an extra-ordinary way, has influenced my academic pursuit and professional service. It is, no doubt, this passion that has driven me to take over fifteen voluntary courses that are more or less focused on other people’s welfare as opposed to my personal gain. I can confidently assert that my decisions to undertake Criminal Justice and later BA Science in Organizational Security and Management in University came not as a double coincidence but were indeed inspired by my desire and deep felt urge to help in countering crime and possibly prevent criminal activities. Throughout my years of study and in my work, I have lived in appreciation, admiration and love of military and law enforcement work; more so the Navy. As a long-time serving ABE3 Navy officer, my father often inspired me to go after my dreams and serve in the Navy noting that I would no doubt find law enforcement most fulfilling. My internship with the United States Postal Inspection Service for a period of eleven weeks has in a very special way reinforced my belief that my assignment in life was in fighting and preventing crime. My experience as a sergeant working with the Allied Barton Security for the last five years have given me great fulfillment, the kind that I would not find working in any other profession not related to security. Among the most eye-opening and reflective experiences during my working experience came when I witnessed polygraph examinations being carried out under the United States Postal Inspection Service. These awe-inspiring and intriguing experiences have been a challenge to me, leaving me with a strong yearning for more learning and experience in polygraph examinations. Even though I would wish to practice polygraph examination, I have a greater preference for cold case homicide investigation driven by my passion to see justice prevail against criminals both within and outside the United States of America. . I have always longed to receive in-depth training and experience in various aspects of criminal investigation which can only be achieved by interacting with different people experienced in different specialties of criminal investigation and law enforcement in an excellent and dynamic environment. It is for this main reason that the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, no matter the distance, has strongly remained my preferred place for gaining more experience and deepening my understanding of criminal justice, and indeed as a place of work. RE: APPLICATION FOR INTERNSHIP Kindly receive my formal application for internship in the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. I hold a degree in Criminal Justice from the Middlesex County College and currently I am a senior student at the University of Phoenix taking a BA Science in Organizational Security and Management - hopefully graduating in December, 2009. I was an intern with the United States Postal Inspection Service for a period of eleven weeks and have been working as a Sergeant with the Allied Barton Security from 2005. I am a self directed, committed, and hard working person who has good interpersonal skills, self confidence, and a positive frame of mind. Kindly note that my order of preference for NCIS Headquarters assignments is as follows: 4. Cold Case Homicide Branch 5. Polygraph Services Division 6. Death Investigations Unit Also note that for the NCIS Field Office assignments my order of preference is as follows: 3. NCIS Field Office Carolina (CALE) - General Crimes Unit 4. NCIS Resident Agency New London CT (NENL) - General Crimes Unit I am confident that working with NCIS will give me a grand opportunity to gain exceptional experience in law enforcement and criminal investigation which are my specific areas of interest. Kindly find attached a copy of my curriculum vitae and other testimonials which further detail my qualifications for internship in your organization.   Thanks in advance as I look forward to receiving your favorable reply.
