My source of Motivation My Dad is the sole role model. His childhood stories encouraged me to work hard to become a better person. He grew up in a challenging environment. The financial setbacks forced him and the siblings to engage in informal jobs. They collected used sacks in order to provide for the family. Nonetheless, he worked hard at school despite the challenges. The determination gives me hope in life and the desire to achieve in studies and life. His effort to sacrifice for my studies in goods schools and the great concern for the overall academic performance is inspirational. Hence, I always work hard to progress his efforts and make him a proud parent. The efforts evidence in excellent performance at school as reflected in my transcript. My understanding of Cultural Differences Since childhood age, I lived in a society made up of cultural diversities. I had friends, classmates, and colleagues from different cultural backgrounds. The integration improved personal respect and understanding of various cultural beliefs in modern society. Furthermore, the leadership role in the Indonesian Students Association of North Seattle (ISANS) provides the platforms for interactions with individuals from different cultures and background. The cultural harmony also roots in experiences. Membership in basketball team while in high school nurtured interpersonal attributes. Thus, I learned to respect other team players needs concerning divergent cultures and views. It also accounted for the collective excellence performance at school. In addition, the volunteer role in IVARs booth in the Husky Stadium that comprised of handling the customer’s food orders to the cashier enriched inner attributes to diversity. Hence, I excelled in getting the right order and attending to client needs. Understanding other’s culture is my prime objective and forms a great component of my family’s culture. The family runs a card box business. Knowledge of viable markets for sale require cultural congruence. Product promotion and marketing, primarily lies in understanding people and their responses. Therefore, I have lived and ready to live in a society with cultural diversities. My Leadership and Work Experience I have my motivation set because of the entrepreneurial mind. The talents date back in the primary school time. School occasionally held a small bazaar during our break time where they let students sell some snacks or food. The program provided the first real experience of a business transaction. Since then, I exhibited the zeal to succeed and learn more about the enterprise field. The skills developed further during high school studies; I had a business mind of starting a small online shop selling printed clothes and accessories. Primary goal at that time entailed getting avenues for extra pocket money. Hence, the opportunity stamped the role of a perfect medium between the supplier and the customer earning based on commissions. Our parents conceived us with twin brother after six year of marriage. During our infantry, my parents wanted us to join every CCA outside school. Therefore, we took piano, guitar, drum, swimming, and mathematics lessons. The events preoccupied my childhood experience and shaped my characters since I enjoyed them. Besides, I became a high school choir member. The participation earned me experience and achievement, including winning the 6th world Choir Games in Shaoxing, China in 2010. In 2012 during the final year in high school, I participated in 7th World Choir Games in Cincinnati, Ohio. The opportunity stamped record of achievements since the choir won 3rd place with a gold medal. The completion was never easy, but we showed team spirit and commitment to succeed. In particular, the experience developed my skills to acknowledge the seriousness of every choir practice. Choir triumph and membership in basketball team show my intrinsic skills for diversity, experience, and motivations for success in a different environment. I took the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) O-Level when I was in grade 10 then proceeded to a college in North Seattle at the age of 16. I am currently finalizing pre-requisites and getting an Associate Degree in Business. I am a committee member of the Indonesian Students Association of North Seattle (ISANS). The roles involve working in the creative media and documentation division. Specifically, I document events to ensure that members and participants have materials to hold on to for evaluation purposes or simply as a memento of events. The roles progressively nurture my talents. I am a good event organizer and photographer. The association that I am part of organized a sports event between Indonesian students in Seattle over a month ago. The event tasked me with the responsibility of managing scoring board. It served the most crucial positions in the field. Clicking the wrong button on the scoreboard due to lack of concentration could interrupt the game. I also volunteered at the IVARs booth in the Husky Stadium twice. My job was to hand the customer’s food orders to the cashier. The position enabled me to perfect on teamwork and communication skills. Therefore, I understand the two components are fundamental to success. Parents’ Success Story My father built his company out of nothing, and I am proud of him. He is an entrepreneur who translated knowledge acquired in school to business. His career after graduation was with plenty of turbulences. However, he is a persistent man and had hope of success in the card box business. He is a great advocate of customer satisfaction. On many occasions, he kept researching about innovations to make the factory run more efficiently. He manages production and marketing while my mother handles the financial aspects of the company. My dad motivated me to pursue a degree in Business Administration. I intend to apply this skill to help him manage and make the business more fruitful and renowned. Primarily, I have the objective to expand the company Middle Java out in East and West Java. In addition, I believe that using a cardboard box for a packaging is environmentally friendly and offers potentials for growth. Further studies shall set me apart in my professionalism and help me become an ambassador of change. Bottom of Form Bottom of Form Read More
