In New York City, eighth-grade charter school students have a higher likelihood to be reading and writing at an appropriate grade level than are eighth-grade public school students according to tests performed for a New York Times analysis (Finder, 2003). 50 per cent of middle school students enrolled in the six-city charter schools.

It is essential that a closer evaluation of the system should be taken. There is a need to create a mechanism, which will prevent educators from teaching to the test. In other words, teachers should e guided into taking a broader look into the educational system and not be boxed in by the need to led their students into getting good scores.

The American Public Education has come a long way. Time and change has brought new things and new circumstances. It now faces tremendous challenges. Failures and problems are being recorded and examined.

The era of globalization is most distinctively featured with the spread of Information Technology (IT). When IT is paving its way into business, security, industry and even in agriculture, then can education be far behind in reaping the fruits of IT? These assessments, authentic, traditional and equitable, are just tools themselves and are just as responsible as the curriculum and the educators. Regardless of the assessment effort level, equity will never be achieved as long as everyone involved in educating children sees these assessment tools as responsible for ensuring fairness.

The third one is the concrete operational period (7 – 11 years). Children at this stage can grasp the concept of conservation, serial ordering and transitivity. The fourth one is the formal operational period (after 11 years). Now the children become capable of deductive logics such as ‘or, if and then’ reasoning. They begin from observations.

My original perception of the field of law before starting the course was closer to the positive law theory than natural law theory. But having studied the English Legal System and especially after reflecting on specific issues related to aspects of law, I am now inclined more towards natural law theory.

A writing skill below an acceptable standard is very bad for the business and can result in a higher cost and expenditure. As in any business set-up, an individual involved in a computer business can rise to a higher position when he or she possesses a writing skill since the management knows that that person can be a valuable asset to the organization.

I desire to have a wider exposure to a variety of teachers as well as learners from whom I could learn, may it be in a formal or informal setting. Having experienced the difficulties I encountered as a new teacher, I have now a burning desire to get equipped for me to be able to teach incoming and aspiring shapers of minds.

The disparity was that most parents did not see the reason for educating the girl child during enrollment. Also, the girl child was discouraged from undertaking science-related subjects. Life skills education is one of the most valuable lessons that have learned during the semester. I must admit it takes time since learning is a lifelong process. I believe that life skills education is beneficial to me as it helped me become familiar with the practical skills required in daily life.

This story implies that I will have to deal with numerous issues, which include helping the students with the problem of self-image and self-esteem. I believe that learners face numerous concerns that affect their emotional and academic well-being. Also, the story implies that a teacher must always be prepared to handle various issues in the school setting.

Many parents do extra efforts in sending their children to school. Some parents take time to prepare packed lunches because they want to ensure their kids are eating nutritious food to help them grow healthy. This important role of parents could now change as school officials take over the responsibility of deciding on children’s lunches.
