METEOROLOGICAL SATELLITES SYSTEMS By Student’s Name: Course Name: Institution: City/state: Date: Meteorological Satellites Systems Introduction Meteorology manly concerns itself with observing theoretical physics and earth science. Being one of the branches of observational sciences, meteorology is charged with the task of giving accurate information about the atmosphere’s state…

Introduction

The data harvested using this network helped in the discovery of some characteristics about the atmosphere that were previously not known. These characteristics formed the basis on which most of the theoreticians worked on to provide information about the atmosphere. However, these characteristics ware not enough to provide more precise information about the atmosphere yet such information were of great significance in predicting meteorological parameters and conditions. The introduction of computers and mathematical models resulted to an increased demand for observational data that was adequately sampled and reliable both in time and space. This was due to the fact that the atmosphere forecast models depended strongly on the initial atmosphere state that had been reached at through assumptions. Better data was needed as even after this initial information, there were still many areas that were left without atmospheric soundings that were conventional. Before the discovery of weather satellites, the weathermen work was almost impossible as they were handicapped with very limited information before them about the atmospheres state at any time (Kidder and VonderHarr, 1995). ...

Comparison of Ground Support Systems
In comparison to using screen and bolts, shotcrete is considerably more productive however it also is significantly more expensive and needs substantial amount of material handling. The material costs of spray-on liners are very much higher however they result in considerable increased productivity as well as lesser efforts for material handling in comparison to the other support systems. This…
Sustainable energy systems
In larger scales, solar thermal technology harnesses enough energy for us in generating energy equivalent to geothermal plants. Solar is a clean and renewable energy implying that unlike fossil fuels it neither pollutes the environment nor gets depleted. Its use is therefore more economical owing to the minimal environmental effects. The United Kingdom uses different forms of fossil energy in the…
Materials in Engineering Systems - Uranium
Many regulatory agencies and activist groups work towards certain ends in the debate. Uranium seems set for a period of high significance as fossil fuels become scarce. The most viable replacement to Uranium is Thorium. The production of Uranium remains one of the most controversial issues in the energy industry. Uranium is naturally radioactive hence there are a range of issues that attend it…
Anchor and mooring systems
Anchor and mooring system are used to hold the ships and the floating platforms in position and prevent movements caused by the wind and current. Given most sea vessels and ship are incapable of breaking, only anchorage systems and mooring can be used to slow down and hold the ship into position to avoid moving (Lekang, 2007). The unregulated and unwanted movements caused by wind and the current…
Production systems
There are several factors that should be thoroughly considered by workers, managers and owners to effectively use manual assembly lines. These factors include but are not limited to the high- and medium-demand products, similar products being produced, possibility of dividing the work into segments and the impossibility of automation of tasks (Groover, 2007). There are several reasons for which…
indian space program
However, there was another country, which made the dream of going to space its own, and this was a developing nation situated in Asia, known by the name ‘India.’ The Indians, although lagging in terms of national progress and technological advancement, still developed their own space technology and finally sent their first human to space shortly after the same was done by the former mentioned…
Paper topic systems
57). There are different overload protection systems that exist, each with its specific function and application. In industries that involve the movement of heavy loads, overload protection systems are installed to ensure that the machine, equipment and people are protected against injustices or damages that may occur in case the machine is loaded beyond its capacity (Gurevich 2003, p. 183).…
