Chemical and Material Engineering

The process of analyzing the mechanical qualities of nc by researchers is gradual since this process is experiencing various obstacles. Manufacture of the nc materials is one of the Chief impediments of the experimental evaluations of its properties. The preparation of nc involves factors, for example, porosity, contamination and residual stress, which significantly influence its mechanical capabilities (Lu, Lu & Sui, 4127). Indeed, a valid evaluation of the mechanical qualities of the nc requires a sample that is deficient of the contamination and residual stress. Such a sample will have to be large to ensure several tests are done on it. A significant quantity of nc pure copper was synthesized through an electrodeposition technique. Copper (Cu) metal has unique characteristics that make it suitable for in manufacturing the nc sample. Cu has an extensibility quality when undergoing cold rolling at average room temperature (Lu, Lu & Sui, 4127). The deformation feature of Cu has been researched at length through high-resolution electron microscopy (HRTEM). Experimental Procedures According to (Lu, Lu & Sui, 4128), the manufacture of nc copper entails the electrodeposition process through an electrolyte of CuSO4. This is a chemical procedure where the substrate of Cu is deposited on the cathode, which has a capacity of 99.99wt%. ...

Materials Engineering - Career Outlook and Responsibilities
The research was conducted by going through written sources of information found within the Penn state university library system, the study of this engineering material leads to an occupation known as material engineering. Material engineers deal with the development, processing and testing of materials used to create a wide range of products. They employ the use of metals, ceramics, semiconductors, composites and plastics to create new materials that exhibit certain mechanical, electrical, chemical properties superior to the individual constituent materials, and they also come up with new...

Engineering - Jute Material
The graph that is generated by jute is particularly characteristic of most composite and building material. From the graph, we can learn several facts about the jute that is put under the impact test. Jute occurs as a long, soft and shiny natural vegetable fibre and thus it has to be pre-processed before it is used in any form of construction. The fibre is woven to form laminates, which can be processed into a fibre that can be used in material production. Jute in its natural state is a fibre that is resistant to compressive and tensile stresses and has mechanical properties that are tougher...

surface engineering technology used in industry for surface modification( i.e surface treatment-surface thermo-chemical tratment
This has been made feasible because steel is strong, flexible, and durable, thus, making it a suitable material for construction. However, there are instances where some modifications have to be made to the metal to make it suitable for some types of construction. The resolve to have steel that is strong, tough, wear, and shock resistant leads engineers to manipulate the surface of the metal, leaving its inner core intact (Davis, 2003). This process is called surface hardening of steel, and it can be done in many ways. Surface hardening techniques can be grouped into two main categories; local...

the Engineering Disciplines
This indicates the numerous career paths that a civil engineering professional can pursue. All civil engineers must have a bachelor’s degree, while advanced degrees are only essential for individuals who want to enter into academic, research, and managerial positions (Bugliarello, 1994). With the various civil engineering disciplines a civil engineer has a lot of fields to choose from. Civil engineering has progressively been developing and thus moving away from the gold-standard which required the necessity to design so as to function and grown into the need to embrace the ability to design...

Introduction to Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical engineering is among the oldest engineering branches. The branch has also been named as the ‘mother’ branch of engineering. One appealing characteristic of mechanical engineering is the extreme broadness and diversity of its application base. Nearly all inventions made in the ancient times and most in this modern era are attributed to one or more applications of mechanical engineering (ASME International). Mechanical engineers are usually involved in concepts like thermodynamics, kinematics, robotics, fluid mechanics, structural analysis among others. The above concepts are used...

Mechanical Engineering- Mechanical Project
Other than strength and stiffness of materials, other properties like electrical conductivity could become essential when making material selection. The desired function of the intended structure remains the leading elements providing a guideline of material properties. When desired material properties cannot be achieved within any natural material, engineers must construct materials meeting the required structural properties. This includes combining different materials to produce a unique material having the desired chemical and physical properties. This combination of material could be...

To make a reliable and stable structure for living and working are one of the basic necessities every human feels greatly. Civil engineers are people which make this necessity to reality. Earth quakes are one of the greatest natural disaster humans face since the formation of planet. Causalities caused by the occurrence of earth quakes look very ugly on seeing them for the first time to naked eye. It is a blessing of nature that most of the quakes happen in the ocean. Many developed cities fall to this might force of nature; industries crashed down and also many of the civilizations vanished...
