Quantitative Asset Management Laboratory Name: Instructor: Course: Date: Introduction Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) is a method that is commonly used for transmitting digital data channel, with its preference being based on its actual ability to really achieve bandwidth efficiency and compensate for linear channel distortion…

Introduction

The QAM obtains its name from its two components of out of phase which are 90 degrees. Aim of the experiment The primary concern of the experiment is to design and implement a Quadrature Amplitude Modulation transmitter. The experiment aims at the student being able to understand the representation of baseband signals in constellations and to have a better knowledge of differential encoding. The experiment also aims at reviewing the Quadrature Amplitude Modulation in digital communication, as this will help in generation of signals and demodulation. Because of the close relationship between AM and QAM, the experiment should also demonstrate modulation and demodulation in AM signals and examine the sensitivity of QAM phase errors (Ho, 2005). Equipment required The plugs in modules that will be needed for a complete run of the experiment include: An audio oscillator An adder and an multiplier Quadrature utilities Phase shifter and the associated utilities Dual analog switch Quadrature phase shifter Sequence generator Two tunable low pass filters Procedure The first step is to set up a QAM modulator using the equipments provided. Basically, a QAM modulator uses an analog circuit arrangement with emphasis on avoiding overload. ...

Given below is the graph which shows the relationship between water/cement ratio and compressive strength of concrete. It can be observed from the image that the relationship is hyperbolic in nature. Figure 1: Relation between strength and water/cement ratio of concrete The compaction of concrete is the process adopted for expelling the entrapped air from the concrete (Shetty 2010). Higher the…
Impact of a water Jet laboratory
Throughout the world, water turbines have been used in the generation of power. This happens when water that is under pressure strikes the turbine vane thus producing mechanical work. The force that is generated gives out rotational motion when the jet hits the vanes. A clear example of a water turbine is the Pelton wheel. This form of a turbine has more than one water jets which are normally…
Engineering Managment
The company was founded by John Cadbury in the year 1824. It is presently headquartered at Uxbridge, London, United Kingdom and operates in more than 50 countries of the world (Prinz, 2012). Since the time of its inception, the company has been growing at a rapid pace and the reason behind its continued success is its clear strategies, plans, goals and objectives. The company has been operating in…
Laboratory Testing and Evaluation Report
A theoretical study on their mechanical properties is also made. Samples of both finished materials having 1.2 mm thickness are tested against their mechanical properties which include universal testing and hardness testing. Another study of same grade of material which is kept under different process conditions is also made. Samples of 1.2 mm finished skin rolled SPCC steel versus 1.2 mm annealed…

It is because of these problems that knowledge management (which entails generation and Embedment of knowledge into the operations of these construction organisations) has been enhanced. Regardless of the fact that generation and Embedment of knowledge in these organizations is of great importance, their implementation is also faced with challenges such as mistrust, and poor management of…
quantitative and qualitative measures of real estate investment performance, and their use, usefulness and limitations in the re
According to Feng, (2010, p, 11), Internal Rate of Return and property based portfolios have also been used. The quantitative and qualitative measures of real estate investment performance are useful, but they have some limitations, in the real estate investment decision-making process. This is because of the complex nature of real estate investment. Therefore, it may be difficult to absolutely…
Electrical and Electronic Engineering laboratory logbook and report
We also carried out an investigation of the basic bias connections for a transistor. These steps help to familiarize with the basic measurements needed to characterize the properties of transistors. Secondly, we explore the output characteristics of a common-emitter transistor such as load line and operating point and their significance to the operation of a transistor. This laboratory report…
