English Is Google Making Us Stupid? When we look at today’s dilemma of cognitive functions of our brain, then we come to realize it at some point that Google is making us stupid on day to day basis. Though the advancement of new media has turned the human brain to function concisely, but it has also taken some things away from us. The search engines like ‘Google’ have made the people to act and think in a computerized manner too. The concentration power of humans has been affected. Such kind of search engines is made smarter than a normal human brain, which is playing a wide role in reprogramming the neuro system of brain too.

People are getting away from detailed cognitive functions towards the summarized information only, provided by these search engines. One of my friends is also experiencing the effect of this computer medium. He was a person named to be as, book worm. He had a craze of going deep into the books to collect detailed information out, regarding any topic. But after accessing Google, he never bothers to read the whole 300-500 pages book. He just searches for specific book summary, and base his analysis on the given data.

This is how the new media is controlling the human brain to function. In one hand it is providing fast tactics of collecting information and pushing our brains to not to get into the time consuming phenomenon, on the other. New media is facilitating people at large level along with some permanent disadvantages also. (Carr)ReferencesCarr, Nicholas. Is Google Making Us Stupid? 01 July 2008. 03 June 2014 .
