English Composition 22 September Personal Belief Positive thinking is a mental and emotional attitude that focuses on the bright side of life and expects positive results; this is what is called the law of attraction. It also can happen to ward the other side, when the person got a bad thing, because he thinks negatively. From my experience in life, I strongly believe in the law of attraction from all of my heart. I had different conditions that I faced in my life, some were good, others were bad that prove to me that there is a power from positive thinking that may change the outcome, and the apposite is true as well. I graduated from high school long time ago. After graduation, I started to apply to colleges to continue my study. I choose to study Computer Engineering, which was my dream. Although my GPA in high school was high and I was very good in math, I wasn’t sure that I would be accepted in the program because I always have low self-steam and I thought they would not accept me, because they have applicants who are qualified for their program better than me. One month after my application, I got letter through the mail. It was from the university and while I was trying to open the envelop I wasn’t so excited, because I expected to find the refusal letter instead of acceptance. They wrote to me that they accepted me in agricultural instead of engineering college, as they think that it fits me better. In fact, I didn’t try to register in any other college because I believed them. I didn’t want to waste my money and my effort and at the end the answer will be the same. So, I decided to accept the offer. After one semester, I start to realize that this is my future and I don’t have to study something not interesting to me. So, I left the college. Because of my finance issue, I started to seek for a job, hoping that after I saved some money, I would continue my study. I applied for very big company, which had a lot of offers, high salary and good insurance. I was excited in the beginning, dreaming about the money, tickets that it would give me, insurance that would cover my expenses and my family expenses as well. After I got the interview, I started to worry about the job and for the whole week preceding the job interview my mind was occupied with all negative things that could happen during the interview. I actually, anticipated failure. During the interview, while they were asking me, I was worrying about my appearance, my tone and my answers, which distracted my attention and made it difficult for me to focus on the interview. The atmosphere in was the room contributed to my feelings, it was a strict conference room and the faces of my job givers were too serious. I felt myself a bit upset because was not sure if my look and behavior fits such an official atmosphere. My overall behavior made a bad impression, and consequently, I did not get the job. I used to observe one of my friends who took his life easy and funny and he usually received what he wanted without any difficulties to face. He was optimistic, not believing in impossible and always look at the bright side. In contrast, I saw my life as full of difficulties and there was no easy way to get what I want. I always worked hard, but had no good result at the end. Before knowing about the low of attraction, I used to call it luck. Later, I applied in military and I got accepted, I worked in military for almost 9 years. By that time I gave up my dream that was studying engineering. One boring day at the work, I met one of my high school friends at one of the café shop around the work center. I was surprised about the news that he is a computer engineer hence I taught him math and computer subjects, because he found it difficult for him at that time. I remember the day I went to my apartment and I spent all my night thinking of my future and why I am in career that I never liked, why I quit so easily, why I didn’t believe in myself while other people achieved what I could achieve. I was sitting on my bed in the dark deciding on what I should do. At that time, I was preparing for my wedding, so I didn’t think much about my future in studying, but about my friend. I started to hang out together a lot and I noticed how his personality is different from my. He likes to read a lot of different philosophy books, he told me about the low of attraction and how it could change not only your future but also can change your personality to the best. My wife is a physician and she is a hard worker, full of energy and she will never give up till she reaches what she wants. As a consequence, I start to think like her and I followed my friend’s advice to think about my dream as it is really happening. I started learning and applying these new concepts diligently, hoping for big results. But then, nothing happened. I figured I probably just needed to keep practicing the different techniques. Thus, I decided to believe from my heart that I will be an engineer, it just a matter of time to reach my dream. At the same time, I was doing research to know everything about the possibility of getting the acceptance, but this time not in my country, in the USA, the center of education in the world. My dream was big enough to seek my education abroad. Strangely enough, my wife got scholarship from her university to continue her study aboard. At this point, I knew that whatever I am doing, it does work. I got acceptance in electrical engineering technology at one of NY institute. I start my study at NYIT and I got A in all of my class. While I was studying, my confident returned and I felt that I could do better. So, I decided to register in biomedical Engineering. I had a meeting with my friends in the café where my friends got to know about my decision. Our meeting was not pleasant, because they tried to stop me as they thought that I would not be accepted in such difficult program. We even had a controversy, because I did not listen to them and was self-confident enough. In fact, I started to make the study plan and I anticipated the acceptance. Then, I got the acceptance in Biomedical Engineering that I started to study it this semester. In the final analysis, I don’t know exactly how the low works but I know that this belief is based upon the idea that people and their thoughts are both made from "pure energy", and the belief that the energy attracts similar energy. Some scientist says that the thought could affect in different way. For example, when a person doesn’t believe that he will have the job, he will not show interest from the beginning and he will act in the interview as a loser and he doesn’t deserve this job. That eventually affects his attitude, speech and his confidence and as a result will affect his acceptance. In my opinion, if the result is be the same, good or bad, I would prefer to feel good by looking at the bright side instead of killing myself with thinking about possibilities of failure. Believing in low of attraction doesn’t mean that we just have to relax and imagine ourselves in desirable place, but working really hard to reach our goal. Low of attraction is just a way to teach how to understand yourself and never underestimate it. It also keeps your mind full of beautiful dreams and provides the belief that some of them may come true one day. Read More
