How Obama Care Affects the American Society Obamacare is a US law that aims towards the reformation of the American healthcare system. The plan provides Americans with affordable insurance and aims in improving healthcare in the country (Obama care facts 1). Obama care does a number of good things including protection, rights, and new benefits in relation to their healthcare by setting up an insurance marketplace whereby the American citizens can purchase subsidized and regulated insurance during an open enrollment (Obama care facts 1). Additionally, the law also aims at expanding Medicaid, and improving Medicare. However, Obama care is not a good option in our society at this moment due the cost involved, biases and high operating costs (Fact 1). Despite its help towards average earners in the American society, it has created havoc and high operational costs to the rich and big businesses. The Obama care affects the American negatively by increasing taxes, causing unfairness in society, straining the economy and changing the cost of operating businesses. First, for the government to get funds to insure millions of American citizens, obviously the money has to come from taxes. Moreover, this can negatively affect the high-income earners thus causing bias in the society. Because of high taxation rates on the rich people, this can in turn affect their employees as a result of the reduction of working hours. The Obamacare is not a good solution, as it seems to be a punishment towards the rich people and big businesses (Investors Business Daily 1). Moreover, due to high taxation on rich businesses might lower the investors confidence, and this might negatively affect the local economy. Another negative situation on the Obama care is its ultimatums towards all American citizens. This law is forceful in that it requires that by January 2014 everybody was to have registered in this programme and those who fail a fee was to apply. Additionally, this Medicaid can only be achieved through the State and the federal funding. Unfortunately, not all states have the capability of fully funding this plan (Obama care facts 1). Thus, about 5.7 million people from the poor backgrounds will be without an insurance cover exposing their lives to danger. Furthermore, the state and the federal governments also provide fund for the plan making matters even more badly. A classic example is the Children Health Insurance Fund (CHIP). As a result, the operation cost of health insurance gets higher than the growth of the economy. This phenomenon strains the available resources in government that could otherwise be utilized in other government sectors to fasten a development in the country. Moreover, the law is an increased burden to society. The law requires that the insurance companies to take cover on the sick people (Obama care facts 1). Once the insurance companies take cover on the sick increases the costs on the insurance companies that might lead to their collapse or underperformance. Furthermore, this law mandates the company with the equivalent of 50 or more employees to provide cover to their employees (Obama care facts 1). Consequently, in anticipation to this some companies and businesses have reduced the employees hours (Monica 13). Since the Obamacare targets everyone from young people to the old people, in most cases the young people most often have good health and do not need this insurance cover. Hence, it becomes a burden to young people. Since the launch of the Obamacare, the insurance premiums have increased due to the mandate of the insurer to provide cover services. The cover focuses more on the cover of the people than on the source of this cover. The plan does not cover for abortions but only on special circumstances like incest, rape or when the life of the mother is endangered (Monica 13). Moreover, Obama care is detrimental to rich while giving huge benefits to the poor. Hence, the program can be said to be discriminatory as it forces large firms insure certain sectors health industry (Fact 1). Additionally, the plan has widely increased contraception coverage in women. The plan has also led to increased government spending. The United States government is using billions of dollars to subsidize the insurance coverage of millions of people. Despite the Obama care having reform attractions, it has made the operation of businesses to be expensive, and millions of people left uninsured (Roy and Avik 1). Moreover, a recent research has shown that the Obamacare has negative effects on the job prospects in the country. It has led to the cancellation of tangible policies and the collapse of provider networks making many people lose access to their doctors (Roy and Avik 1). Likewise, implementation of the Obamacare could subject tax headache to Americans because it continues to cause increased premiums rate. The number of subsidies given by the government will increase subjecting American to higher back taxes. Moreover, over 85% of Americans who signed up for the Obamacare to benefit from the subsidies given by the federal government are at a financial risk. Consequences are evident if the income differed than they had estimated at first. In this situation, we see that this law is unnecessary before many Americans, and hence it subjects the American people to unnecessary taxation (Roy and Avik 1). On the other hand, the plan leads to the security threat. The information derived from people on this plan is said to be at risk (Becker, Barnie 1). There is an urgent need to ensure that this information is protected from cyber attacks. The audit report recommends that Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to boost its efforts in the protection of data of taxpayers. There has been fraud websites similar to that of the Obamacare misleading the taxpayers to pay their premiums through them. The Americans rushed to meet the government deadline of February 2014. Additionally, the report also points out that positive steps had been taken to protect the taxpayer information but noted that there are no perfect systems (Becker, Barnie 1). The Obamacare has created a heated debate in the American politics, and the Democrats used it as a winning strategy for the November elections. On the other hand, the Republicans could not allow them to use the Obama Care as a campaign tool. Consequently, from the political sphere, the obamacare is surrounded by flaws that are hurting Americans financially through over taxation. Since the Obama care had huge flaws, the Republicans opposed the strategy and rallied behind their supporters that the Obamacare is unfixable (Investors Business Daily 1). Turning for the worse, after the elections Florida House Democrat Joe Garcia spearheaded for the creation of the Obamacare website. From the memo of the midterm elections revealed on the failure of the Obama care that was full of flaws and many people were against the plan (Investors Business Daily 1). Additionally, the flaws have not only been theoretical but practical on the ground because millions of Americans have been hurt. Americans have found themselves on huge deductible taxes; plans canceled los of access to their doctors and even some priced out of the market It is now more than two years after the congress passed the Obamacare and signed into law by president Obama. Critics have frequently criticized the authentic of the law because they argue the law is more 2700 pages long and complex (Giffey 1). In this scenario, most of the lawmakers did not read the document comprehensively, they just voted for it. The figure has been included in various blogs and websites even that of Mitt Romney President Obamas main challenger (Giffey 1). However, proponents of the plan cite several benefits. They argue that the plan has enhanced millions of Americans to access an affordable medical cover in the market. Obamacare is a major reformation to the American healthcare system, and it has enabled millions of Americans to access an affordable cover that is subsidized by the government (Obama cares facts 1). Additionally, Obama care has also expanded Medicare and Medicaid thus enhancing a large proportion of the American citizens to access medical cover/insurance. Consequently, despite the low cost of the cover, it has forced both the State and federal governments to give out subsidies in this program. In conclusion, the Obamacare is not a good option of healthcare for the Americans now. This is because; the program has led to increased taxation in the American society. The rich people and big businesses are now facing hurdles because they are forced to cover the people they employ. The plan has also forced several businesses to reduce the working hours thus negatively affecting the economic growth. Additionally, the program has forced both the state and the federal governments to provide subsidies that had led to an increase of taxation. On the other hand, the young people are mostly health and do require this program. Moreover, the program has created biases in the society by over taxation of the rich and big enterprises. It is, therefore, clear that the effects of the plan outweigh the benefits. Hence, the plan needs some review so that it can get complete acceptability in the society. Works Cited Becker, Barnie.
