Dust Storms Within the universe, Earth is one planet that comes under evidence as the most attractive and eye-catching that has land and water to sustain the human existence. As the world has entered the twenty first century, the world statistics present the depiction that the world population is confronting numerous environmental hazards and global warming has made an addition to it. Although, the world has moved towards the technological, scientific and industrial advancements and is growing at a rampant pace, the innovations have not become enough advanced that it can prevent the natural disasters or the ecological jeopardize. Innumerable constructive transformations came as an outcome of industrial revolution, but the biggest concern that arrived with it is the air pollution that is one of the prime causes of dust storm. On the other hand, global warming is also playing a vital role in heating up the world terrain to a high extent through deforestation and discharging of industrial elements, where the climate and the environment has come under a major catastrophe. The environmental hazards and the natural disasters have covered the whole world along with the entire populace, civilizations and ecosystems with its drastic effects, that includes “dust storms, windstorms, sea storms, tornadoes, earthquakes, flood, volcanic eruption, cyclone, tsunami, and many more” (Webster, pp. 358). Dust storm is a meteorological event that comes under definition as “A severe windstorm that sweeps clouds of dust across an extensive area, especially in an arid region” (Webster, pp. 358). In other words, a storm that carries clouds, which comes under formation by dust through a very powerful unsettled and destructive wind, travels numerous miles in a region that tends to be dry and infertile. Parched and warm air comes under frequent alliance with the sand storm that is obvious and noticeable by massive pressures. A dust storm varies through their volume and the larger storm may engross and occupy pace of the particles that depend upon the wind haulage. One of the biggest calamities of dust storm that came under the experience by the inhabitants of United States occurred in the decade of 1930s, which brought mammoth corrosion to the soils and farms, and caused material hardships as well that made a big faction of the population to relinquish their homes. The blending and amalgamation of environmental aspects with human activities results in the happenings of dust storms. In general, the storm leave drastic affects on to the people as it breach and create obstruction in the air, road, and rail transportation, which compel the denizens to go in the house in order to get protection from the dangerous dusty air. These storms have such a strong impact that often, people come under coercion to depart from their residence and go through the course of sand and grime came with the storm. The strong dust cloud welcomes the natives who are outside due to work or other reasons and they experience the consequences of the storm (Heinrichs, pp. 4-9). The contributions of two factors that include the transfer of coarse that is flat and parallel; bits and pieces of dust sized; and the fluctuation of excellent minute elements that is upright makes up the course of action of the sand release and discharge. The small elements come under emission into the air in the form of nano-elements that erodes from the coarse elements such as the face of water bodies, where it comes under interruption by the hauling of meteorological turmoil that can be for thousands of miles. The impact of the dismissal or ejections of dust particles are significant on the marines and the output or the yield of world as they endow and enrich the environmental supplements and food. The containerize of coarse also has an effect on the conditions, attributes and elements of air moving. The assimilation and dispersion of the radiations from the sun through inorganic droplets, brings a change to the environmental radioactive attributes. Areas that comes under the subject to cause dust storms covers the dry and barren atmosphere that couples the low land regions and planes with small and minute dust particles and scarcity of plant life. The inconsistencies of the weather conditions have a great affect on the internal reoccurrence, and the size, capacity and dimensions of the dust storms. It can even come under association with the some areas where rainfall is unlikely to appear. The rise of the dust storm initiates when the power and strength of the wind speed escalate that crosses the easily movable elements in the vicinity, the dust elements commence to oscillate, tremble, and escapes. The tiny elements gets detach and separated when the dust particles hit the land or soil on continuous basis, which makes the dust particles start to pass through in deferment. The wind then accelerates over the dust particles, hence originating the tiny and minute particles to sling, that will result in the drifting of a big faction of dust particles that may be hundreds and thousands of particles through a series of execution of functions that includes separation and release of dust particles from the soil body. The dry, famine, barren and infertile forms of the land or soils makes the smaller dust particles to get movable and wobbly that mainly causes the dust storm. In addition, the wind has several causes of getting to this speed and rough texture that has the power to destroy. The dust storm in several regions may cause due to dry land farming. These farmers employ and engross themselves only in the safeguarding of dampening the land as they confide themselves on the rainfall that will water their cultivation (Goudie & Middleton, pp. 12-26). The sand storm has roofed the whole world with its drastic impacts. According to studies, it has come under evidence that dust storms have augmented the dispersion of lethal diseases. The diseases caused by virus germs present in the dust includes silicosis that arise from the endangered vulnerability of the respiratory mechanism, asphyxiation that is the result when the cure of silicosis is not through, and Keratoconjunctivitis sicca that is dry eyes caused due to exposure to sand storm (Natural Disaster Research, Prediction and Mitigation, pp. 35-42). It does not only harm the human populace and the environment, rather it has left an indelible imprint on the economic sector as well. Due to the drought and arid land, the soils heavily come under damage by it and deteriorate the conditions by confiscating the organic substances and the particles that are fertile and plenty in minerals; hence, the outcome of it is the minimization of the agricultural output. Consequently, it reflects the nations’ economy such that modes of transportation experience traffic congestion; people and land do not get sufficient sunlight and sunrays that is one of the basic needs; and warmth impacts comes along with the additions in cloud composition (Natural Disaster Research, Prediction and Mitigation, pp. 42-50). The sand storm and dust storm are homogenous and consubstantial in nature and emergence as they come under creation with the fast wind moving dust particles with it; however, there is a minute difference between the two. The fundamental difference between the two is the elements or the particles that move and transport with the wind and the kind of topographic area in which they take place. Dust storms are more likely to occur in the summer seasons when the wind is strong enough in the dry regions and the areas where the temperature tends to be high from the normal one, to transport the sand particles from the lands. Looking at the other end of the spectrum, the sand storms occur mainly in the desert areas that come under the consideration to be the barren and arid regions worldwide and the surface of the ground is wobbly, uneven, and full of sand. Therefore, with the strength and power of the wind the sandbank easily come under transportation to thousands of miles that even can travel to nearby areas where the population density of the people is high and irrigation lands come under location. Even with the natural calamities and environmental hazards, there are ways of survival from this disastrous phenomenon that the people can put into practice and follow in order to prevent from its aftershocks. People must continuously keep themselves updated with the weather news especially in the summer seasons. Citizens may even hold masks, which come under use in the storms along with secured spectacles to provide a shield to the eyes and have excess water as an individual may suffer from dehydration. One should try to stay inside the house and should be at a place where one can cover themselves from the storm effects. The past and contemporary trends of dust storms reflect the fact that the weather and atmosphere alteration will have a high persuasion on the future dust discharge or storm.
