Calorie Intake and Burning it. Food consumption and how to consume it in the right proportion has become one of the most common things that people ask themselves. Every spoonful of food that one takes, accounts for an additional amount of kilocalories. By the fall of every spring, women especially are pretty much more depressed about their weight and thus start going through books, online searches, nutritionists and dieticians in order to learn the best way to put down some extra fat. Studies have shown that women in general need about 1600-2000 calories per day while men roughly about 2000-2500. Therefore the number of calories intake should be limited to a certain level so that the person may not add up a few pounds. But there are some delicacies like cakes, chips and the favorite of everyone which is the Mac Donald’s, that one cannot stop oneself from eating. Just the thought of them bring water to the mouth. These foods are the highest caloric food that exists and eating one of them not only increases the level of fat but also contributes in being obese if a person munches them everyday and at irregular intervals. On the long run it leads to him being obese. Obesity is a term which can be defined as the accumulation of fat and there are several degrees of being overweight. Dealing with normalizing the extra pounds is no more a secret to anyone. Starting from the TV advertisements till the pharmaceutical companies, there is always a new product that comes up on the screen which tempts people to purchase. And as any ads, they would never publish the side effects of the drugs or of the herbal preparation but rarely will they show that exercising is a good and safe practice in order to burn the excess calories. So the question here is, do people really think that drugs and herbs help in cutting down the excess fat or the best way remains the natural method of burning out the fat? We live in an era whereby everything is easy to get and achieve nevertheless, there remains some basic things that we need to do and take into our hands like enjoying a good health. There is a Roman proverb that goes as follows: “A healthy mind in a healthy body”. This term has two major points to be emphasized on: healthy mind and healthy body. They are inter-connected to each other and yet one cannot operate without the help of the other. A healthy mind includes that one has to think healthy, eat healthy and live healthily. The latter insinuates that it can be accomplished with the assistance of physical exercises on either a daily basis but at most 5 times a week to reach the term all together with a healthy and balanced diet. A diet plays a most important role in keeping the body fit. The latter needs to get its regular energy for the daily activities and without it, the brain will have a low sugar level thus the person will feel tired all the time. Generally speaking, an average person needs to have 4 meals per day and the most important one that should never be skipped is the breakfast. It sums up to 30-40% of the general energy that the body need in a day. Nonetheless, the meal does not mean that it should consist of food rich in fats and carbohydrates but rather it should be consumed according to a ratio of 45% carbohydrates, 30% fat and 25% protein plus the other elements like micro and macro elements, fiber and water. In all there are 5 main types of fat which are namely the saturated, polyunsaturated, monounsaturated, trans-fat and the artificial type of fat. The monounsaturated fat mainly decreases the blood cholesterol level and they come from the citrus food. The polyunsaturated fat are from omega 3, sunflower oil, sesame oil and they aim in reducing the rate of having a stroke. The saturated fat, trans-fat and artificial fat all adds up to the negative aspect in the health of a person and these are the types of products that one has to avoid. It has to be well noted that not all the fats and carbohydrates are used up in our system and some of them including protein are being stored as fuel for later consumption. Fats cannot and must never be eliminated from a diet as they are the main source of fuel production for the organism to maintain energy and use them. Even the fats have some vital functions to play as they protect us from cold, they make the skin softer and helps in delivering the essential fatty acids to the other parts of the body. However, one should know which fat is good and which one is not recommended at all. The good fat normally comes from oily fish and virgin olive oil while the bad one comes from pizzas, hamburgers and tacos. If a person removes all the fat from his diet, he will still run the chances of being on high caloric as being overweight as the matter may lie in the genes or in the lack of the person’s ability to adopt to a healthy diet and lard only is not the only source for the extra calories in the body. An example of the most common American diet is eggs, loaves of bread, beans, and sausages, cereals with either milk or coffee. In average the amount of calories intake in only that aspect is about 1/3 the regular needs. This is where the role of burning the extra pounds should intervene. Physical exercises not only help in keeping the body fit, but also have several benefits. While exercising, the amount of oxygen that our body uses is increased, the brain function is better, the muscles are being worked out at the same time and the excessive pounds are being burnt. Physical exercises help in preventing many diseases like Diabetes Type 2, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, renal failure and many other serious illnesses. Combating calories should not include for a person to go for a strict diet and restricting himself from eating anything that tempts him. Stopping from consuming a food and the act of resisting to all the food is what would be best termed as starvation. And during this process, one will definitely lose weight, but he will also gain twice as much as he lost when he will not be able to resist from the temptation of eating his favorites. Instead why does the person not take up the wise decision of correcting his eating plan and involves himself in some exercise instead of tormenting himself with starvation? Several exercises are well known which help in cutting down the flab. There is a long list of sports that one can indulge in to either prevent from putting on or to burn out the weight. Among the long list, women are more into aerobics, walking and running short distances and swimming while men prefer it the hard way which is sprinting, swimming and even joining a local gym. Well this seems so perfect, but it needs to be in parallel with a low fat diet, avoiding to eat in between meals and also the physical work out should be on a regular basis. In brief, a person should not cut down his diet totally, but rather, he should alter it in such a way that he does not consume too much calories which may be harmful for his health and increases his risk factors in developing deathly diseases. Along with it, he should get himself involved in some kind of physical exercises which will help in burning out all the kilo calories which will keep him healthy.
