Introduction Description of RTI Response to Intervention, commonly referred to RTI in the education discipline is a form of academic intervention and a multilayered approach that provides services to students by specifically providing the type of education that suit their level of academic need through the corresponding level of instruction. It is a new model in education used in the United States which specifically functions as a special education identification method (Harlacher, Nelson Walker & Sanford, 2010, p.30). This paper looks into the health-education related problem that I have come across with in my own community. With regard to that, the paper looks into the various aspects of the deficiency, identifying the extent of the problem, as well as providing innovative interventions to it. The paper also reviews the theoretical approaches and models of health promotion and how they can be used in the intervention process.
The general fact is that children who do not show response to effective interventions are more likely to have biologically explained learning disability hence needs a special education process. The introduction of this program was in order for it to replace the ability-achieved discrepancy model that required students to exhibit their ability in academic achievement usually measured through grading and standardized testing.
From this definition, it is clear that education is a very wide field with various areas of focus. This essay purposes to concentrate on special education as an area of education, which caters for learners with exceptionalities. Every child deserves to be educated on how to live a self-determining and fulfilling life, despite having physical, mental, or any other disabilities.
The approach gained credibility in the last decade as alternative to the criteria used traditionally in teaching students with special needs. The most critical elements of the RTI approach are that it facilitates the adoption of intervention and instruction program in education that is based on research and scientific facts.
Each of these forms has their own specific differences, as well as, the features upon which each can be evaluated so as to suit the organizational needs of Ms Seow. In this paper, I seek to discuss in brief these forms and then select on one upon which I shall make a recommendation about and the justifications for the same.
