The study investigated if Hong Kong banks had resumed their uptrend which was interrupted by the Asian crisis and SARS epidemic, and if so, what aspects of banking operations acted as drivers of the industry’s growth.The findings arrived at by the study showed that for Hong Kong banks in the period under study, the banks have grown steadily in capitalization, profits, and assets over the decade. It was also determined that profit was determined by the banks’ capital structure, loan volumes, risk management, and non-interest income generating activities.
