Thus, there is a need for osteoarthritis to be addressed, and although there have been several forms of treatment for osteoarthritis, little is known about the pulsed shortwave treatment, and so the study was conducted to find out more about the effects of PSW treatment in different doses. Participants The participants were 121 women of the mean age of 60 and diagnosed with joint or knee pain for at least 3 months. Those excluded had a history of knee surgery, physical therapy, medication, and those who presented contraindications for PSW treatment.

Results Results showed that pain was significantly reduced with low and high doses of PSW treatment. Low and high doses of PSW treatment had similar effects but the former seemed to be more effective in the long run. This means that PSW treatment is effective against osteoarthritis.
