Inequality in health forms a component of health inequalities that can be associated and modified with social advantages and considered to be ethically unfair (AHRQ, 2010). Health inequality, disparity and inequities are significant indicators of the health of the community. In addition to that, they help in providing vital information for making decisions and implementing intervention for purposes of reducing preventable mortality and morbidity. Purpose Statement The policy, research and public health practice literatures have increasingly reported substantial disparities in morbidity, life expectancy, quality of life, risk factors as well as disparities persistence among various population segments (National Committee for Quality Assurance, 2010; CDC, 2009).

For instance 2007, the Healthy People 2010 Midcourse Review reported the progress on various objectives. On the contrary, less than sufficient progress towards the elimination of health disparities among the US population in terms of disability status, geographic location, education, sex, and race/ethnicity has been inadequately achieved (Rim et al., 2009). In addition to that, current studies have indicated that despite the overall improvement of health in the United States, ethnic and social minorities have continuously experienced health services that are of low quality.

Moreover, they are less likely to get routine medical procedures. As a result, the rates of mortality and morbidity among these groups have been high as compared to non-minority groups. It is also evident that despite controlling for condition, gender, socio-economic status and age, health disparity still exists. Thus, the purpose of the paper is to justify why health disparities still exist in the United States. Research Hypotheses H1 – The health insurance coverage absence increases the health disparities.

H2 – The health insurance coverage absence increases difficulty in accessing quality health care services. Research questions Why are African American men and women more likely to suffer deaths related to the heart diseases? How health facilities are located throughout the nation and are these facilities easily accessible to all? Who is it that are affected by deaths related to drugs and why is it so? What are the requirements for health insurance policies and how are they issued? Why is health disparity issue difficult to address?

How does citizenship status in the context of the United States affect an individual probability of accessing the normal source of care? Why are there high infant mortality rates among black infants as compared to other races? How health care is allocated to citizens of different incomes? Who is the most affected by the industrial environmental pollution in urban areas? Research Plan In the endeavor to find answers to the above research questions, qualitative, qualitative and mixed research methods were used.

For the majority of health indicators examined in the study such as economic status, education level, and nationality, various patterns were reported among the blacks and whites. However, the patterns were less consistent among the Mexican or Hispanic Americans. Despite their varying slopes, most of the ingredients observed were significant statistically. The research
