School age children are faced with a lot of hazards in the environment because most of them are not under the watchful eyes of their parents. These children spend most of their time in schools where they engage in various activities which their teachers may not even aware of. As a result of this many school curriculums have gone ahead to propose ways in which children could be educated about the environment so that they understand what is there and how they can avoid landing themselves into problems. The basic premise therefore is that children need care at all times whether it is at school or at home. The hazards which affect these children are not only found at the school but also at home. These may in one way or another contribute to problems that affect them later on in life. The way these problems are handled is very important and would either lead to the normal development of the child or would affect them psychologically physically or emotionally. It is the role of caregivers, teachers and parents to ensure that their children are brought up in a safe environment. They must learn basic ways through which they can ensure that their children are safe. These methods are very simple. Some of them include the basic things that can be done at home while others may require a little effort not only from the parents but also from other stakeholders. Therefore it is not only necessary that measures are taken to help promote a healthy environment for children but also people should learn the basics in the first place that will help them provide and maintain a healthy environment for school age children.
