Slavery did result into many negative effects and positive effects. Its effects have lasted for years since the time of colonialism until in today’s world. Some of the effects of slavery have been recorded in the of the world books of history, and they are counted as the basis of the economic, social, cultural and political the development of almost all countries across the globe. The legacy left by the slavery might be important and to some extent it might be a problem that is still seeking solution not only to the enslaved but also to enslaving nations. The importance and the existing problems of slavery are discussed below as follows: Influence of slavery differed so much across many countries and regions. Referring to Latin America (Wegenast, 2010) and the USA as an example, until the 19th century, slave labor was very common in this countries. As a result of these many people were sold as slaves and thus the racial difference (Nimako and Willemsen, 2011) like in Netherlands arose and gave birth to inequality in education, hence inequality in the income gain even as discussed by (Bertocchi, et al., 2014). The enslaved could not get into learning institution thus, they were not educated but could only work in the farms under strict supervision, and hence, they could not be employed in offices that required skills. Therefore, you will find that in the modern world in the USA there are some people termed as the black Americans even though they were born in America and have lived there for long time. If necessary the black people could got to the inferior public schools while the good schools were for the white and the students could not mix by any chance (Bertocchi et al., 2012) Since during the time of colonialism the slaves did work but the income was for their employers and this brought about difference in the development of the colonizing countries and the enslaved countries. In the modern world, the first world countries or the developed for example the Britain among others are they that used to colonize other countries such as Uganda and Kenya among others and therefore, these countries are under the third world countries or the developing countries, where Otherwise the slavery also left an important legacy to some countries which formed the foundation of their development. For example in a country like Kenya, colonialism encouraged people to work but as slaves in the farms of the Britain people as explained in The London Times Digital Archive. This was to allow them to get money so that they could pay tax so that the ruling government could get income even to facilitate the development in the country. In the modern world, the tax system left by the Britain is the one being used in Kenya with a few adjustments and hence, it forms the basis of the revenue of Kenya. Since independence, people are now working in their own farms and transferring the skills from one generation to another. And so one can conclude that Kenyan economy, culture and social activities are as a result of what was started by the Britain. The building of the Trans African highway was done in ancient, and during this time the Africans were forced to work even as unskilled labor to ensure that the highway was well built, but in the modern world that is the heritage of many African countries, and is counted as part of the infrastructure development in the country. Through the pain of slavery, after independence the colonized people were motivated to get education and to learn so as, to fit in the dynamic society, and this has also been transferred to new generations and even the developing countries are aiming to advance their education system so as to ensure that its citizens can be accommodated in any place of work across the world. Therefore in the current world, there is migration all over the world, where people from 3rd world countries move to the developed countries to work as specialist in some areas of work, and also for studies not to forget the blacks and the whites do interact freely in school unless for personal reasons. Also it is in the 21st century that hon. Barack Obama, black American, was the president of the USA for the period ended 2016. There are more similarities than differences between Ancient Greek and Roman slavery. Discuss.  The Roman Empire and the Greece are the most notable in the cases of slave labor. And thus it calls for understanding of what they had in common that made them to join the system of slavery and how they did extend their slavery act as well as their differences. Their similarities seem to be more than their differences as discussed below. Talking of the difference, the roman rule considered the slaves as their perfect enemies whom the hosted. The Greek did consider them as dead people collected from a given community and put in a foreign environment to be abused and used. In the Greek and the Rome ruling the slaves had no legal right over anything of the state and thus they also couldn’t carry out any private deals since they lived with their host, this is because in Greek they were dead chattel who are invisible thus, even they lacked the personhood. Both in Greek and jinn roman, every individual owned a slave and not in any place that anyone raised his/her voice to advocate for the abolition of slavery but everyone was comfortable with the slaves. None did question the morality of the slavery Similar to the romans, the Greek slaves were forced into sexual affairs and since they had no social rights nothing could be done about it. They underwent harassment involving rape cases that couldn’t be heard by anyone. Even in the court of law the slaves had no chance of defense and whether they were tortured and forced to adhere to what the romans told them to say thus the court could not understand if they told the truth of lied for their safety. In both the Greek and the roman there were state owned slaves. (Patterson, 2007) like in the Greek, these slaves could do some kind of work which included; notary, coin testing, public execution which the Athenians could not perform (Hunt, 2015). In addition the served in the military and in mining industry. As for the romans, the slaves could also work in agricultural farms and in quarries where they extracted marbles. As a difference, the roman culture could set the slaves free after some years which was in contrary to the Greek whom the slaves could serve them until death separated them. The slave masters and mistresses could treat their slaves as members of the family and integrate them in matters like religious ceremonies where this was identical to the romans and in some families where the slaves were trusted, they could function in tutoring the children and through that trust they could develop a good relationship between them and the masters/ mistresses and hence even at death the slaves could be buried in family land (Golden, 2011).
