Are Leaders Born or Made? Leaders are truly exceptional men and women. They exhibit undertakings which others cannot undertake. Leaders bring with them a sense of aura and command. They are respected for who they are and what they do with regards to their decision-making abilities. They are pretty resilient in their stance towards a particular task at hand and make sure their actions remain focused all the time. Their perspective is usually focused on the long term scheme of things and because of this they plan in accordance with a set vision in front of them. This vision provides them room to maneuver their own selves as well as the way in which people under them utilize their skills and abilities. The room to expand is essentially present within the folds of these leaders and because of this they command utmost respect and dignity. It is a matter of fact that leaders are born but it is only with the guidance of the people who are close to them that these leaders become truly exceptional ones with the passage of time, hard work and commitment. It is a fact that these leaders are born but the manner in which they work hard to sustain these leadership roles is something that one can gain quite a lot from. This paper looks at the way leaders manifest their true character basis through brains as well as hard work. One must understand here that leaders manifest their true self through perseverance, commitment, hard work, devotion, sincerity towards their work ethos, etc. All of these aspects suggest that leaders are able to give in their cent percent time and time again. They bring to the table the much desired aspect of decision-making which essentially goes to suggest that this indeed is a very difficult thing. Making decisions in tough situations comes naturally to these leaders and they are more than willing to accept the blame once something goes down in a negative fashion. Leaders require both experience as well as talent in order to succeed. This is said because a combination of talent and experience will make an individual tick to his basics as well as achieve what he really wants from his leadership role and capacity – command over the subordinates or workers as well as their respect. When these leaders succeed, they take things in a very humble manner. They do not beat about the bush and remain modest within their work regimes most of the times. The fact that these leaders are born derives from the philosophy that there are innate skills within a person to become one such leader right from the very onset. It makes him feel that he is different from the rest of the people around him. However this must not go up to his head and remaining modest should reign supreme within his personality (Halpin, 2004). He should try his best to make his leadership skills resolute and firm in its very basis. This will help him to bolster his confidence and command respect within the people with whom he has different business dealings. The people who work under this leader should understand that he means business and would not fall down for false praise or flattery. Unquestionably, leaders demonstrate strength of character and an impeccable vision. True leaders try their best to remain exemplary at all times so that others could learn a thing or two from them. Their positive vibes also suggest that leaders are more than willing to teach others all about leadership and dignity of a sound character. Their talent is manifested through their innate traits and characteristics which gives them the skill and apt to make it big within the leadership role and position. Their experience of the leadership role gives them room to exploit their strengths in tough times and circumstances. The leaders have this knack of taking decisions when it matters the most. They try their best to exploit the resources in a very effective and efficient way and hence the reason that the productivity of these leaders gets manifested in a positive manner most of the times. Even if they end up being on the losing side, they stand up and try once again. Leaders do not give into the pressure which is exerted upon them (Fabian, 2004). They face bad times with courage and determination on their part and show to one and all how positive attitude could bring him laurels at the end of the day. Leaders instill a sense of pride and acceptance within the people they work with. They teach pragmatism at all times since they believe similar attitudes mean half the job done in any case. A pragmatic approach means resilience all the way while a somewhat pessimistic attitude could suggest for failures on every turn of life. It is important that these leaders exhibit sound attributes of understanding and cognition so that the people around them learn such facets on a proactive and consistent basis. Leaders exhibit a sense of calm within their respective personalities and try their best to remain somber at all times. They are very good at observing things around them and attempt to take everything within their stride. Leaders are good natured human beings most of the times and the gifts that they have within their personalities is something that others can learn from on a consistent basis. It is important that education and experience is attained by these leaders so that their inborn tenets could be demonstrated to the world in a fairly justifiable manner. They must make endeavors to show to the world what kind of grit and attitude they possess within their personalities and how they can represent success at all times within the future undertakings. In the end, the traits of a leader comprise of his innate desire to see things done in a corrective fashion. They are born with the traits of wisdom, decision-making and insight. They learn traits of character, perseverance and a positive attitude which they attain through experience. He wants to assert his role for the better of the task at hand or the organization that he works for or works with. His assertion stems from the fact that he remains devoted to all the options that come his way and then only decide which course of action would be deemed as the most correct one under the prevailing circumstances. It is definitive to comprehend here that leaders are indeed born and these leadership abilities are within their genes. However they require education and experience to their varied fields of observation so that they could polish the traits which come naturally to them. Their personality manifests development and growth levels for the people who learn different things from them (Avolio, 2005). Works Cited Avolio, Bruce J.
