Every organization wants to achieve and maintain its competitive advantages. For this purpose, organizations work hard and set challenging targets for employees[Edd96]. Some employees can easily achieve that target, but some cannot. Those employees who achieve the targets are known as achievers and others who fail in achieving the target are known as underachievers. It is a concern of various organizations to know the causes of their poor performance and eliminate those causes for making them efficient and productive for the organization. Many researches have been conducted to know the main reason of poor performance of underachiever and concluded that underachiever cannot perform because of negative self-concept[BMa12]and also due to the negative impacts of anxiety and stress in their workplaces[SSa95]. Thus, negative self-concept, anxiety, and stress directly affect the performance of the employee in the workplace[Hea091]. Now, the question arises, how organizations can solve this problem? Our business plan gives a feasible solution to that organizations who want to increase the productivity of their employees through inculcating positivity in them. The plan will discuss all the aspects of our special therapy package like its method, market size, competitors, SWOT, PESTEL and its legitimacy. Business idea and its details “Therapy package for underachiever” Mission statement: Make your employees psychologically healthy if you want them to excel in workplaces Our therapy plan is basically for underachiever, in which two kinds of therapy will be used to eliminate negativity and to make the employees efficient and productive. The two therapies in the plan include cognitive behavioral therapy and the other is rational emotive behavioral therapy. Rational emotive behavioral therapy will be offered to those employees who suffer acute psychological and mental problems like stress, anxiety and others[SFa14].While cognitive behavioral therapy will be offered to those employees who have a negative self - concept and are lacking in self-confidence and self-efficacy[SEn97]. Different organizations can outsource this therapy plan to exploit all the potentials and capabilities of the employees to achieve a competitive edge in this globalized business world. As we have emphasized on the self and our therapy package plan is only dealing with the psychological problems related to the self of the employees. Moreover, we select only two therapies to inculcate positivity in employee self, this makes our therapy package different and innovative than other counselling and assistance programs of our competitors. Method: how our therapy plan works Our therapy plan includes six following steps 1. Collect all the information about the performance of the employees includes both achievements and failure. 2. Identify the underachiever after close scrutiny of their job performance. 3. In the third step, all underachievers will be interviewed face to face by our expert and qualified psychiatrists. 4. Psychiatrists identify which underachiever needs cognitive therapy and which needs rational emotive behavioral therapy. Those who face a lack of confidence and need little counselling will be given cognitive therapy. While those who have a negative self-concept the ABC model[Alb57] will be used and they will be given rational emotive behavioral therapy. 5. Underachievers have to attend all the sessions of counselling 6. After 3 and 4 months again their performance will be observed and their progress sheet will be given to the organization. USP of our business venture Unique selling proposition which is commonly known as USP of the business ventures is always a backbone of the business plan. Thus, we have also worked hard to design strong and powerful USP. The USP of our therapy package is its features and components. As our therapy package is revolving around the “SELF” the main purpose of our therapy plan is to inculcate positivity and create a positive self - concept which is directly linked with the job performance of the employee. We have many competitors in the UK market and worldwide, but we are one who design a special therapy package to develop positive self-concept to exploit all potentials of employees especially of underachievers. The opportunity Evaluation: Market Research On initial stage we will introduce our therapy package plan in our national market of the United Kingdom. After some years we will introduce our special therapy plan internationally in other developed countries like the United States, Australia and others. Psychological disorders like anxiety, stress, and depression can affect directly to the job performances of the employees and these kind of psychological problems are common in employees across the UK. In the UK, the total number of cases that are present are almost 487000 and the number of new cases are 244000[Hea14].According to the survey of international labor organization that 60 % employees are facing stress in the organization and 7 out of 10 are encountering with different psychological disorders in the workplace[Int12]. Therefore, it can be deduced that our market size is very big. All employees who are facing psychological illness and disorders in different companies of the world are our targeted customers and organizations can outsource our therapy plan to improve the performances of the underachievers who encounter with various irrational beliefs about themselves. Market size of UK underachievers United Kingdom has a productivity deficit because they are many employees in the UK who are not giving their best in the organization. According to the survey that was conducted by the UK government among the G7 nations UK has 20 percent points lower than the other G7 countries[Bru13]. The only reason is that the employees are underachievers; they don’t know how to give their 100 percent. According to another survey only 13 percent employees are high achiever other 87% are underachievers in UK[Gal14]. So it can be deduced that our therapy package plan has big market to cover. Competitors and their product Competitors in UK We will face big competition because there are many companies nationally and internationally that are providing counselling and stress management services to the employees. In the UK employee assistance professional association, Nottingham counselling service and AXA PP health care are famous and successful companies that are offering effective counselling plans to employees. Other than these famous ones workplace options, the UK counselling center, NHS choice, CIC employee assistance is some other but small competitors of our business plan. Competitors worldwide On the other hand internationally source-line of Canada, an employee assistance society of North America and OPTUM of Australia are the biggest three competitors who are providing employee assistance services worldwide and covering a large geographical area with high investment. These competitors are the biggest threat if want a competitive edge we will have to market our innovativeness of the therapy package. Otherwise, it would be difficult for us to survive with these big competitors. Pricing strategy and referral methods We have selected competitive pricing strategy with the combination of psychological pricing. As we are offering a therapy which faces big competition in the UK market and worldwide as well that is the reason we offering little less price for our therapy plan. Mostly counselling centers will be charged 120 euros of 5 five visits, but we will charge 99 euros of 5 visits. Moreover, discounts will be given if one organization has more than 50 underachiever employees. Organizations to improve their employee performance can hire us anytime, we will available 24*7. Our referral will be our employees and all those organizations that will hire our services. The word of mouth and our satisfied services will be prove are referrals. The strategic process The strategic process includes SWOT and PESTEL of our business plan. SWOT SWOT analysis includes all the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats of our therapy package i.e. Strengths Our therapy package covers new psychological phenomena of employees like self-concept, self-confidence, self-esteem and self-efficacy. And that is our biggest strength and competitive advantage as well. We give responsive services to our Customers. Our counselling Centre will be available in every big area of the UK. Moreover, we will also provide toll free numbers and attractive website through which our customers can easily contact us. Weakness Initially we will offer our therapy plan to the organizations of UK only. Our business startup budget is the smallest that can become our weakness in the near future. Opportunities There are many organizations in the UK that needed employee assistance programs and therapy package plan for their employees. Thus we can exploit this big market[Rou15]. It only requires a small investment on initial stages. The cost of doing business is less than the other business ventures. Threats Our competitors are biggest threat for us. There are many companies that are providing employee assistance programs in the UK and in other countries of the world. Adheres to ethical standards are imperative if we ignore any single aspect of ethics, it can directly affect our licensing and legitimacy of our business[UKc09]. PESTEL PESTEL is also a strategic tool in which we evaluate all the macro-environmental factors of the offered product or service. Political analysis It is very difficult in various countries take the license from psychological association to establish an office of the counselling service provider. Like USA doesn't easily grant licenses to psychotherapist to outsiders and foreigner psychotherapist it can prove a big threat to us in future. Economic analysis Economic conditions of the country can directly affect our therapy package because when the country faces depression the stress and anxiety among employee increases at the time of depression and inflation our therapy package plan can provide motivational counselling to the employees to maintain positivity and good job performance. So in this way it can be an opportunity for our therapy package plan. Technological and legal analysis As this an age of globalization, everyone is connected with the help of various means of communication. Modern technologies at workplaces can prove an opportunity of our therapy package plan. We can provide our services through electronic conferences and also marketing our therapy plan through social media. Moreover, in legal analysis, it is imperative to adhere all the ethical standards of psychotherapy association. Licenses, Risk & insurance A counselling center is required to launch our special therapy package. And for opening a counselling center in the UK it is necessary to take a license from British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy[IFr08]. BACP is an organization which grants membership to all counselling centers in the United Kingdom. It sets standard for therapeutic practices and provide all ethical information that are required to adhere during the treatment of the client. The license of registration from BACP is only to work in the UK as we are launching our therapy plan initially in the UK only, but in the near future if we will want to launch our therapy plan to the organization outside the UK then we will have to take the license of that country. For instance, in the future, we plan to enter in the USA then we should have the license of the American Psychological Association to work there as a therapist. Ethical issues and marketing need are two biggest risk of our business plan. In ethical issues, it is imperative for the therapist to maintain the secrecy of the client and not to disclose it to anyone but in our plan therapist not only inculcate positivity in employees, but also informs the employer where things went wrong and what factors are harming the self-confidence of the employees. Thus, ethical issues are difficult to manage. On the other hand, our business plan needs proper marketing and an advertising campaign it is very important to inform our target customer about the innovativeness of our plan. Professional insurance of our therapy package We will register our counselling centers in BACP for entering into the market of UK. Our team of professional psychiatrists are qualified of recognized universities and they got training from international forums of therapies. We have designed are codes of conduct in which it is mandatory to consider ethics and strictly adhere to maintain secrecy of the client. Overview and recommendations Job performance is affected by various psychological factors like negative self-concept, lack of self-confidence, lack of self-efficacy and self-confidence. It can create stress, anxiety and other many psychological disorders in employees especially in underachiever. For eliminating this problem in employees, we have designed a special therapy package for underachievers to inculcate positivity in them. Our therapy package is based on two therapy treatment in which rational emotive behavioral therapy will be offered to those employees who are experiencing acute anxiety problem and cognitive behavioral therapy will be offered to those who need little counselling to build self-confidence. At the initial stage, this therapy package will be offered to the organizations of UK only, any organization in the UK can outsource our therapy package for their employees. There are some future recommendations to our plans: We can outsource our therapy plan to other countries as well in near future. We can add more therapies in our package plan. It can also prove positive if we would use this therapy package as a motivational strategy. Effective Marketing strategy can be used to aware the target customer about the uniqueness of the plan. Our therapy package plan is limited to two therapies, but at the same time it is targeting new psychological phenomena like self-concept, etc. It can prove effective and profitable for the organizations because our plan eliminates negativity and works on creating positivity in employees.
