According to Harcup and Cole (2010), newspapers are ancient information dissemination tools aimed at informing the masses about the events happening within and beyond their boundaries. The history of modern newspapers dates back to the year 1536 in Venice which was geared towards the dissemination of information on the happenings on the way to Turkey.

Though some propagandists intentionally distort the facts, other people may be presenting it faithfully. Traditionally, propagandas have always been used to influence the public opinion through the use of television, skillful recruitments and use of opinion leaders and the adjustment of appeal to the group one have interest in (Richard & Michael, 2009).

However, this can’t be addressed in isolation. Factors that are driving the public away from institutionalized media to individual and collective production outside theirs should be addressed. The emerging solution as advocated for in the analysis and discussion is for professional journalists to advance two-point approaches.

The online community is a group of people who utilize the internet platform to distribute information, entertain and socialize (Elgin, 2006). An aspect that has emerged out of the online community concept is the growth of Social Media and Micro-blogging sites as means of distributing information or news.

While we expect that technology will ease the way of life, we are also wary because it is slowly eroding the values we once adored in our society. Trends have been lifted all the way and are being imparted on our young people. At the end of it, we may not have anything to be proud of in relation to our society.

Obama expresses personal beliefs and does not fear to commit himself. This shows that he is ready to stand for his actions as the president of the nation. As a leader, he shows that he is responsible for whatever that he intends to do for the sake of the country and that everybody should join in the battle in order to attain the kind of education that each family will be able to afford.

According to Grenny (2009), having good communication skills is all about the ability to convey information to different people in a clear and simple form, and is understood correctly. Communication skills can either be effective or ineffective. Effective communication is how one conveys and receives a message to and from someone.

The public interest entails the welfare of the whole country’s population. It means what is in the benefit to the public rather than what is of interest. The political journalism a times does not convey the public interest. The privatisation and control of the media outlets by the government officials, individuals, and politicians renders public interest dubious.

The scope of the media continues to broaden following the adoption of different publication technologies. The publication technologies have completely reshaped the role of the media. The publishing power of the media is now greater than ever. The media now have more influence on the public compared a few decades ago (Montgomery, 2005). The evolution of media publication has brought changes to the society.

Effective communication is essential in every organization as it assists in various ways. It helps in product development, customer relations, and managing employees – almost every aspect of organizational operations. Staff members are the key audiences as, in most cases, serve as a channel for other audiences.

Cronen and Pearce have suggested in their work that active listening is a way of listening, comprehending and responding to communication in a way such that it improves mutual understanding. Active listening is termed so because it calls for the demonstration of certain behaviours on the listener or receptor in a communication process.

An accurate and adequate strategy can assist in making a negotiation successful. Another strategy that can help the managers have a successful negotiation is a clarification of aims. What aim does a manager have in carrying out the negotiation? The manager wants to close a real deal or strengthen the relationship by providing a better solution.

Sometimes a case may arise in court whereby someone may be required to give a testimony involving their spouse. In a mixed-method research approach, qualitative and quantitative methods complement each other during the research process. Both methods are employed at different phases of the research process hence they facilitate each other. Employing several approaches to study one phenomenon makes the results of the findings more reliable and valid.

How well this information is sent and received depends on the communication skills that a person has. Thus, the development of communication skills are necessary are important in all aspects of life such as in professional fields, how a person socializes with others in gatherings, and in ensuring that the information is accurate and clear.

Briefly explain the primacy/recency effect. The primacy effect is the impression that one gets when they see an individual for the first time and it has a characteristic of sticking in the brain. The recency effect is the impression that is created from the last thing that a person hears or sees from you and it has a characteristic of being easily remembered.

Journalists who take part in participatory journalism have a lot more to over to the audience compared to ordinary journalists. When the key factors are considered ultimately the message will prove to be effective.

The interview taught me a lot of valuable lessons especially in the area of communication. In the everyday course of our lives as health professionals, we often rely on data, graphs, information to be able to evaluate or assess what is happening to a patient. What we often overlook is the fact that communication plays a vital role in establishing therapeutic relationships.

After the interview, I was very pleased that Mr Hernandez was very entertaining in answering my questions. He did not show any signs of hesitation or gestures of exhaustion from the interview. Instead, he was accommodating in the interview process, as well as very engaging in answering critical questions that may sound derogatory.
