Extract of sample "Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs"

Whether they are white-collar employees, war veterans, or criminals, those people who belong to the motorcycle gang subculture choose to do. Further, resistance to the social hierarchy motivated most of these people to participate in the motorcycle gang.

This theory holds that these motorcycle clubs offer a platform for a person with a high propensity for criminal activity to unite to form a group in order to run businesses of different levels of sophistication. A person can also be attracted to these groups because of social isolation (Hayes, 2011). Social isolation makes a person pay more attention to the underworld. Motorcycle subculture groups incorporate their lives in ways that make a person exercise spontaneous and planned criminal activities. In addition, a person can be attracted to outlaw motorcycle gangs because they perceive a different sense of belonging within these gangs. This might be something they have been lacking in their entire life; therefore, they decide to get involved with these gangs in order to fulfill that desire or need. The other theory is the queer ladder of mobility, which asserts that a person is attracted to the outlaw motorcycle gangs with the aim to create wealth and gain power.
