Communication and advice Internet and research skills Familiar with English legal websites Proficient in word, Excel and internet searching Teamwork Well organized and accurate Motivated and hardworking Strengths Over the years, working with others in doing assignments, I have gained the ability to realize that team work leads to better results than individual work as long as all minds are set towards a common goal. Networking is one of my best personal attributes. I am socially active, with fellow peers, and with new faces. Therefore I can blend well in any organizational culture. I like challenges and a high degree of responsibility. I can work well both without and under pressure, with minimal or no supervision. Positive thinking, commitment and respect for all are my key principles Weaknesses I am sensitive to any form of racial abuse. Despite being social, I am a perfectionist and therefore dislike careless mistakes. My emotions and personal life can affect me in studies. Feedback from others The teacher says I lacked eye contact in some of my presentations. However, my content delivery is good. Not assertive enough and lack of critical analysis in projects and assignments. Performance Indicators I am good with planning and research but lack proper delivery of agenda. When faced with a heavy work load, I get overwhelmed with stress Conclusion Areas to focus on include; Be more assertive and develop more charisma in my presentations. Learn to understand the key aspects in a question, or any problem so to be able to deliver the best content on the subject. 2. Desired State- Where I want to be What I hope to achieve My interest is in Law and politics. I admire the political scene of the western culture and I would like to integrate that with my traditional and religious belief to aid my country in progressing ahead, economically and politically. I want to start my own Law firm and be able to help the innocent from false imprisonment. This will also enable me to prove my worth and to develop both in terms of business and also in mentoring other young Lawyers who do not have the proper platform to practice Law. I would also like to work on my charisma, confidence, and assertiveness. This is especially important since to be able to lead, one must not only possess management skills but leadership skills as well. Short term Objectives These are objectives I hope to achieve in the near future. They include physical, social and personal goals. Physically, I intend on developing into a fit physique since a healthy and fit body improves self esteem, confidence and thus a stable mind. Socially, my perfectionist attributes affect my relationship with others and therefore I intend on developing into an easy going person. However, I cannot totally change my admiration for neat and smart work, I can only be more admissive to the fact that human is to error, and that not everyone is perfect. After all, some errors can be corrected or at the least minimized. I am planning on furthering my education to the highest level possible, attaining my doctorate and also venturing into other disciplines of study especially business and politics. This will enable me to develop professionally as this will improve my academic qualification for my long term goals. My personal goals encompass; mental, psychological and professional growth. I need to be able to think critically, analytically and logically in a bid to develop my knowledge and professional excellence. I am seeking a platform for gaining experience before graduation and after graduation. This may be in the form of an internship which will enable me to gain experience and to find mentors who can guide me in the right direction Long-term Objectives These are objectives I intend to achieve in the long run after a longer period of time. They encompass my career, and my financial and personal fulfilment. With proper guidance and mentorship, intend on stamping my name in the field of Saudi Arabian Law and politics. I intend on making a name for myself not only by taking up cases, but by winning them, helping curb corruption and injustice in Saudi Arabia and the world. Going global is my ultimate goal where I plan on starting my own Law firm, recruiting talent, multi-culturally, so as to foster some of the best Lawyers in the world. This is no easy task, however, hard work and a positive attitude is a good place to start. Every man works hard for a purpose. Almost everyone seeks a job that offers a stable income. However, how we use that income is what defines us. Through my practice in Law, I hope to build a financial asset that will enable me to start a Law firm. This Law firm will be able to generate enough revenue for me and my family to lead comfortable lives, However, I intend on starting a financial trust that will sponsor young talent, orphans and other needy groups. This is my call from Allah; to help and protect others, and to improve the state of society. If I can attain my career and financial objectives, I will have attained my ultimate goal, which is to fulfil my purpose in life. Attaining my purpose in life will result to personal fulfilment. 3. How to Get to my Desired State This is the hardest process of all which requires a lot of commitment and focus. It encompasses the means to achieving the set objectives. Short tern objectives can be achieved by reading books on personal development, fitness programs and other seminars, forums and exhibitions that talk about the topics of social, personal and physical development. Attending classes, following instructions and commitment are also ways to achieve the short term objectives especially those of attaining a doctorate and further studies. This can also be improved by discussions and sharing with fellow classmates or other parties who share common goals. The long term objectives can only be achieved through hard work, commitment, focus and proper guidance. Guidance can be offered by lecturers, mentors who have done it before. These mentors are supporters and can coach and train a person in such a manner that the person develops their skills. I have already identified a few guardians and mentors that I look up to for advice and support. The idea is to take in as much wisdom as I possibly can as this will translate to better results in my development process. Certain resources are also required in this pursuit of objectives. They include books; financial assistance, access to audio-visual and electronic sources. Money and time are also very important resources. Patience is also a virtue as people tend to give up when they see the gap between their objectives and the reality. 4. Challenges and Obstacles to Achieving the Set Objectives Complacency This is a state of fulfilment that usually gets people over-confident and in a certain comfort zone. I intend on avoiding complacency since it can make one veer off from the correct path to the set objectives. This is especially common when people start making money and they get comfortable with the current state. However, I have bigger goals which I am focussed on achieving. Bad Company and Critics Most people will always discourage others in whatever they do. Critics tend to try and show how unrealistic certain goals are. These are pessimists who intend on seeing one fail. However, with a positive attitude, I can achieve the set objectives by being optimistic and avoiding the wrong company. Impatience Impatience is one of the worst challenges that face people who have big dreams. Life is a process and nothing comes easy. People have to work hard, establish connections and a good network. People should prove their worth in a bid to climb the success ladder. Patience is therefore a virtue, and therefore it is important to have it always. Lack of Resources According to Winston Churchill “If one fails to plan, they are planning to fail”. Every objective should have a plan and therefore, resources need to be employed for the objectives to be attained. The resources include; thesis’ books, audio-visual resources, electronic sources, journals, articles and films. Money is also a key factor in attaining objectives. As the adage goes “you need money to make money”. To be able to start a Law firm, one needs to have proper financial resources. Money is also important since most online e-books are sold, and other books may not be in the school library so they need to be bought. Money therefore plays a major role in this venture. Laziness Hard work pays is an old saying that remains fresh even in contemporary society. Lazy people rarely go far, I therefore intend on giving it my all, being thrifty and industrious, working towards my goals every day until I attain them. Reviewing progress is also an important factor of achieving objectives. 5. Timeline This refers to the time period within which I plan on achieving the set objectives. Short term goals can be achieved within the next 3 years including completing my Law profession to the highest level. Within this period of time, it is possible to develop my personality, physical, social and psychological attributes of life. However, long-term goals such as; doing other disciplines of study such as business and political science, making a career statement on the Saudi Arabian scene, starting the law firm and consequently starting a financial trust for the needy, can take between 10-25 years.
