Criminal Homicide According to the inquirer, a 29 year old man was arrested in South Philadelphia and charged with committing criminal homicide, theft of property and even rape and later dumped the body of the victim on a highway. All these happened over two decades ago as the body had decomposed. The body was found near Philadelphia International Airport decomposed but had strangulation marks on them. All this was unveiled once the identity of the woman was unveiled by the police and circumstances following her death unveiled by the police and recorded through a statement by the offender once arrested.

According to McCollach and Kinkeade, 2003, it is evident that if this case were to be tried in Texas, it would be under article 19, section 19.01 of the Texas Penal Code. In this section, criminal homicide is explained as “a person commits criminal homicide if he intentionally, knowingly, recklessly or with criminal negligence causes the death of an individual.” “Criminal homicide is therefore murder, capital murder, manslaughter or criminally negligent homicide. Since the body was found with strangulation marks, it is evident that there was intention to kill the victim and therefore the case would be tried under section 19.

02 subsection b where the “a person commits an offense intentionally or knowingly causes the death of an individual and intends to cause serious bodily injuries that causes death (Maxwell 303).” This can therefore be treated as murder on first or second degree with no bail or damages to be paid.Work CitedFleck, Carole. “City man held in killing.” The Inquirer, June 13, 1986.
