Introduction Literature works are an important aspect worth individual’s concern due to some distinguished reasons. For instance, it is through stories that people learn how to have better literally scripts. Through stories, people get to know what existed in the past society and what there is in today’s societal history. The choice of themes by various writers depends on the grounds of their stories. It is worth noting that people in the current world need have a keen look at the things they do. One of the importances of reading a story is that it helps individuals to learn about the changes in the world of literature. The principal reason of this essay is to reveal the theme of isolation in the stories of the “Hands and the Horse Dealer’s Daughters” by Anderson and Lawrence respectively. This essay also looks into the impact of isolation and loneliness to various characters in the stories. Further, there is also the author’s say about the themes. Finally, there is a recommendation regarding the choice of themes to todate writers. The stories of the “Hands by Anderson and Horse Dealer’s Daughters by Lawrence Anderson’s story is about Wing Biddlebaum, an old man and retired teacher who has only one friend George Willard (Anderson). Due to the state of being lonely, Wing thinks of George as the only person to help have an easy going. On the other hand, the story of Lawrence entails information concerning Mabel, who later in life is under depression due the death of her mother. The story line also shows Fergusson as a man with no passionate feelings towards women. However, the prevailing situations make Mabel and Fergusson to meet and commence a life together (Lawrence). The theme of isolation in the stories Isolation refers to a situation where an individual is emotionally affected. Several individuals assume that other people in the society have no concern about them and may offer no assistance when in problems. The story of the Horse Dealer’s Daughter entails Mabel and Fergusson, who are the main characters who point up the theme of isolation (Lawrence). The theme comes out during some conditions in the lives of the characters. On the other hand, the story of Anderson encompasses the characters Wing and George revealed to bring out the loneliness character trait. The choice of words by different writers helps determine the traits in a story. The main characters (in both stories) depicting separation trait In order to bring out themes in a story, there has to be several characters. For instance, in the Horse Dealer’s Daughter story, Fergusson well illustrates the isolation theme while Mabel illustrates the theme of loneliness. This is after the death of her mother who is the only guardian she lives with. Loneliness is also depicted when Mabel feels lost after her mother’s death. Fergusson’s failure to have any emotional feelings towards Mabel makes her (Mabel) feel isolated due to her status (Lawrence). On the other hand, Wing walks along the streets and finds a number of young people jointly taking liquor. Wing who is in most of the times tense finds it difficult to indulge with other people. The reason for the loneliness is that Wing is uncomfortable with tension where else other individuals make fun out of the anxiety. How each character tries to cope with the state of being lonely The feeling of isolation makes a person to be under a stressful situation. It is of significance to define better ways of coping with stress. It becomes easy when an individual has alternative options to avoid further harmful situations. There are several ways, which individuals suffering from stress need to adopt. For instance, in Lawrence’s story “Horse Dealer’s Daughter”, Mabel has a way of healing off from hopelessness. The cure is when Mabel regains her pride after finding out that the mother left behind a house. On the other hand, in Anderson’s story denotes that Wing only that George would pass him a visit (Anderson 2014). According to Anderson’s “Hand” story, the best way to keep off from being lonely is by having a talk with a friend helps drive away situations appearing to be difficult. People have diverse ways of doing away with stressful conditions depending on the effect on an individual. Therefore, it is worth stating that people should search for any possible solution when faced with problems. The impact of loneliness Separation of individuals from others has several impacts on the person affected. The use of themes is primarily to capture the attention of various readers. For instance, themes like love helps people know to react when in devious emotions. Loneliness in the story of Lawrence leads the characters to depression and also inserts fear into the lives of others specifically Fergusson. People need to engage in dialogues with others so as to demolish loneliness. Summary and conclusion In accordance with the story of the Horse Dealer’s Daughter, it is significant to comment that sticky situations sometimes illuminate individual’s lives. This is evident when Mabel, a deceased female meets Fergusson, afraid of water, but deeps into the pond thereby meeting the woman he wishes to marry. People should be of help to those stuck in difficult situations. Individuals should not despise other people due to the incapability to light undertake various tasks. Some themes in stories of the past depict what goes on in today’s world. People need to learn more about how to help structure solutions to various problems. An individual may get a way of driving out of a difficult situation by taking a means that seems to be of no help. Therefore, it is vital to note that some circumstances (specifically, isolation and loneliness) are of negative impact to certain individuals. However, people may culminate such situations by searching for a way out instead of giving up on life.
