? Strategic Management: Sur Strategic Management of Harley-Davidson Corporation There are many different objectives, vision, mission and goals that a company want to achieve. Developing proper management and strategic plans in any organization, will improve not only the way it carries it operations, but its market, McBee, R. D. (2011). Many organizations in the transportation and manufacturing sector have developed different missions and visions for their operations and business. Therefore, the desire to have a wider marketing platform for their products especially the Harley-Davidson Corporation in the United States of America has produced different marketing and operations strategies in order to maintain its optimum market share and client bases. The responsibility drawn towards the natural role played by the strategic management committee does not only oversee the company’s internal management, but it extends the boundary into external marketing issues that affects the company’s marketing and operations. Although diversification in the field of technology has produced competitive edges in the motor industry, the organization has continued to thrive in its domestic markets. What if the management wanted to thrive into better and bigger competitive markets in abroad? Does it have the necessary resources and leadership criteria to improve its development and market development? Therefore in this thesis development looking into Harley-Davidson Corporation will help us develop proper understanding towards the understanding if the company’s resources can support it venture into the international markets and it can fair with the intensified competition, McBee, R. D. (2011). To define the necessary steps that can be taken by the HD Executives in making worthy decision making, the PEST analysis model will provide different support alternative to substitute in the basic strategic decision making by the company. This is going to create light and provide direction towards the understanding of the national factors that can affect the development a better ground breaking strategy by the company. The porter 5’s analysis tools are essential in defining what goes and how the company will fight against the external factors such as economy and price fluctuations to fit in their agendas and budgets. In general it is all about what the company will in order to curb the many external factors that may affect the operations of the company. Importance of PEST and Porter’s 5 Forces analysis in Harley-Davidson Corporation These are the main models that can help the organization in their daily findings and operations. In order to maintain their competitive edge they have demonstrated over the time, different issues have to be taken into considerations. Technology and price fluctuations The two models try to define the main important factors affects new and better ventures for any business company that wants to improve it operations. Looking at the corporation of HD, many subsidiaries have been established due to the rapid diversification in the field of motor manufacturing. This has developed many different versions of motors in the market. The many versions and technology trends tend to change the supplier and buying power of certain products relatively in accordance to corporation brands. Technology has changed the way redesigning and management of the aspects is planned and developed through operations, supplying to the market and price dependency, Bonham, S. S. (2008). Therefore the main strategic organization of the company should view and developed the necessary decisions in regard to technological changes in the region and market. Rapid development and establishment of different processing and marketing outlets in the market can affect the normal way a company runs its operation. Through the necessary procedures and steps taken by the marketing and producing departments of the corporation, it is important to change the aspect of supply, design and price variance in its products. Competition and new products The entry of new product in the market will definitely strike a balance between consumption and production. Competition also edges up since the creation of different aspects in the market produces new customer base. This is important in watching your customers’ base and operations in the selling industry. The resources owned by the HD Corporation are essential and important in developing new product that can stand in its market. This will create a better market and provide improved competition for it new entry of products. Competition will improve price variations the market, Bonham, S. S. (2008). The introduction of “Victory” and “Indian” motorcycles with their American price tag made is an example of better products introduced into the market. Business environment There are many issues regarding a change in business. This change of environment will affect different aspects on company operations. The different issues that affect production and supply will also change in regard to environmental changes. Venturing into international markets is another way that environment changes. There arises different issues essentially substitution and customer satisfaction. Many issues in regard to developing better understanding of markets especially international will affect issues such as raw material development, supply networks and transportation of products from different manufacturing outlets. This will create a certain aspect in customer substitution, Grant, R. M. (2013). The change and void left by the movement from the domestic to international, affects both the development and improvisation required by customers. This elaborates further effects that can be encounter especially in affect to cost of leaving and changing the market. Therefore the Harley-Davidson Corporation strategic management can consider the many attributes that come up with the change in business environmental changes. Political arena International business produces different assumptions in regard to different issues related with the political arenas. Many issues that affect business environments across different roles played in accordance with different business regulations are essential in determining how to operate and market in various political systems. The main issues in this perspective does not only affect the important aspects like market and cost substitution, but different political issues if well consider by the executives, they can use them to their advantage. Taxation and market variations are affected by the political variations in many countries, boundaries also different standards that should be considered before venturing into the broader markets. Consumer and labor laws affect the support the company may require if venturing into external markets. Taxation issues are among the main integrals that can be followed by many companies and executives in protecting their resources. This can be important into the many markets and regions that the corporations have ventured into, Grant, R. M. (2013). Safety and health regulations are essential in developing the necessary issues that can affect the development of outside manufacturing and redesigning of products. Therefore the strategic management committee of executive should limit their decisions to ways that are productive and worthwhile to the company that produces reliable and essential products. Government regulations and labor laws are other factors that can be developed and followed in order to maintain a better and future manufacturing and processing foundations for international markets. Subsidiaries and legislative regulations also should come in handy in the follow up done by better decision makers of the corporation, Bonham, S. S. (2008). Substitution To emerge into other ventures will eventually create different levels of void in the production and marketing affairs in the region, either domestically or internationally. This is will a setback in domestic market if all the company by’s products are pushed into international market. Substitution also comes in handy depending with customer development and desires, Bonham, S. S. (2008). Many factors that come into play when customer substitution is studied include gas economy and development. This is important in redesigning different aspects in relation to customer satisfaction. Conclusion Therefore the executives have a field of making different worthwhile informative and promising decisions when venturing into the international markets. The PEST and Porter 5’s analysis trends have developed a clear point of view that any development and strategic plans can be used in order to define different issues that may affect the development and venturing of international markets. In order to maintain the necessary roles played by different aspect of manufacturing products, issues form technology and market supply should be very essential in developing and gaining market foundations. The organizations when venturing and shipping different unions of production to international markets faced many different issues such as employee pensions, dividends among many other issues. Therefore it is important to gain the development of outside ventures though the distribution of its ventures and products across their many outlets especially China, India, and the units of supply supplied, McBee, R. D. (2011). The importance of gaining a better market edge and freedom of market working through venturing into international markets, has and can still be promoted into international markets that are more competitive than basically Indian regions.
