The activities of quality assurance by the consultants helped to establish good management practices of data management in the company as it improved the ways in which the documents were produced by the members or the consultants. The role of quality control in the data management activities have been found significant in complying with the set standards of data management. The steps for quality assurance of data included maintain electronic records backed by registers, reviewing the records on a periodic basis and validating the records. The compliance with the set standards was effected with the help of a feedback system both internal and external to the organization. It has been evaluated that the research findings indicate the role of information provided by the consultants as well as the customers in identifying the gaps in the process of quality assurance. This information allows the company to take necessary steps in filling the identified gaps in the system and achieve the desired benchmark standards recommended under the Quality Assurance Procedures. The action of quality control is a part of the quality assurance strategy that focused on producing outputs which are in line with the set standards. The highest standard of data management helped the company to provide excellent services to the customers and in the process meet the expectations of the customers. When the customer service exceeded the desired expectation, the standards of data management were raised in the process. The evaluation of the reports suggests the contribution of quality assurance strategy in data management to achieve continuous improvement by leveraging on technology, recycling of wastes, optimal utilization of resources, etc. Benefits of Quality Assurance Procedures The Quality Assurance Procedures in the company helped to put in place, a systematic sequence of activities that are aimed at improving the standard of operations, the presence of a feedback loop aimed to provide inputs on the prevailing gaps between the actual activities and the set standards. The benefits of the Quality Assurance Procedures are also applicable in the field of storage and maintenance of documents in the company and it largely impacts the way in which the documents are produced by the members of the company. The series of systematic activities under the Quality Assurance Strategy provides the members a plan of action for developing and implementing the best standards of maintenance of documents in the company and improving on the quality control stage for removing the errors in the process (Chorafas, 2012, p.49). This internal activity of the company helps the members to deliver excellent level of professional services to the customers who form the external environment. The members are able to meet the expectations of the customers through data maintenance and service delivery of the highest quality. The point at which the members are able to apply the data management techniques at a level that exceeds the customer’s expectations, the company would be able to better the standards of data management on a higher scale. The various standard practices of keeping back-up data for electronic records, reviewing the data on a periodic basis and updating the records, retaining documents and completing service delivery within a finite duration, validating the recorded data are all important data management techniques that would help the company to provide high quality of customer service on a timely basis (Watson, 2008, p.41). The Quality Assurance Procedures would bring about good management practices, innovation, technological advancement, reliability, consistency, safety and would improve the overall efficiency of the organization in providing excellent customer service. Reflections The evaluation of the group performance on the quality assurance procedures and its benefits has helped in establishing the significance of quality management in the field of data management. The importance of the various steps of registering electronic as well as hard copies of records, reviewing and validating the data was explained. The effects of quality assurance on improving the efficiency, innovative capabilities to solve problems, technological advancements, customer service and profitability were mentioned in the evaluation. The evaluation of the research reflects the integration of the quality assurance procedures with continuous improvement strategies of the company that includes cost reduction of data storage by recycling of wastes, printing on both sides of the paper, technological advancement to implement advanced data management procedures (Owen and Maidment, 1996, p.78). Thus, the contributions on evaluation of the research work reinforce the benefits of quality assurance and continuous improvement strategies. The group has functioned in a well co-ordinated manner to present the various activities that are required to be performed for managing data efficiently. The group has extensively researched on the various methods of data storage and maintenance of register and updating records on a timely basis. The role of data validation and control system for complying with the set standards has also been researched by the group. The group has also researched on the ways on maintaining data in good condition and also emphasised on the continuous improvement strategies. The research activity on this topic could be performed differently next time. The changes that could be incorporated in the study would include case studies of the real corporate houses that have been able to achieve the benefits of quality assurance in the field of applied data management. This would help in validating the benefits of quality assurance and continuous improvement with the help of actual examples. The scope of quality assurance and continuous improvement strategies in the field of data automation could also be explored in the next time (Bagad, 2008, p.58). Lessons learnt The lessons learned in the assignment from both the group task as well as the individual task have been explained below. The group tasks provided useful information on the scope of quality assurance in the field of applied data management. This information helped in understanding the sequence of activities that are performed in a systematic basis under the quality assurance procedures. The quality assurance procedure in the field of data management by the organization provides a plan to the members or the consultants on the ways of effectively managing the data in order to serve their customers in a timely and effective manner. The various activities include storage of the data in electronic form backed by the hard copy storage in the registers. The activities also include the reviewing and validation of the data in a periodic manner and maintaining the records for a finite period of time (Loshin, 2010, p.37). This drove the process of providing timely service to the customers. The group activity also provided research insights on the ways to achieve continuous improvement which includes, cost reduction, waste elimination and technological advancements for advanced data storage, maintenance and delivery. The individual activity provided the evaluation of the research work that established the benefits of the company in terms of improving both the internal environment through Quality Assurance Procedures. The Quality Assurance Procedure established good work culture that was necessary for adhering to the best standards of practice and also in improving the external relationship through better and efficient service to the customers. The role of quality control as a part of the quality assurance strategies was also established as it contributed to the adherence of the best standards of practice in data management. The continuous improvement in quality of data maintenance highlighted the overall improvement of the company in achieving technological advancements, developing innovative capabilities to solve problem and deliver improved customer service through effective data management (Ras and Dardzinska, 2009, p.62).
