Abstract

The utility organisations are increasing facing a lot of challenges in terms of meeting their goals and objectives. The services provided by the water companies are required on a daily basis. However, water is a natural resource while most of the electricity companies still utilise the non-renewable sources. This has put the companies under pressure to promote sustainability, meet the demand of the customers and make profits. Striking the balance between the objectives is thus a complicated process that requires various strategies. Innovation is increasingly becoming important in terms of managing the challenges that the electricity and water companies are faced with. Strategic and innovation management is thus increasingly becoming useful in the electricity and water companies. The concept is still new and more companies are set to embrace it. This research intends to solve the complication between the two terms and demonstrate the differences and similarities between Strategy and innovation. Therefore, it can be carried out within a period of 36 months.
