The paper "Integrated Management Project for HSBC Bank Oman" is a good example of a management case study. The previous part of this project highlighted the major challenge facing HSBC bank in Oman as operational risks that influenced the bank’s human resource element, financial, marketing, and strategic and operations aspect. Additionally, SWOT analysis conducted showed that the bank’s strength was its stout brand name, expanded schemes and well-matched product price. Its weaknesses were identified as operational inadequacy, insecurity of data and the tough competition HSBC is getting from its competitors. Furthermore, the analysis highlighted the bank's opportunities as the developing capital market in the country and expansion through the opening of new branches. Finally, threats to the operation of HSBC in Oman were found to be defective human resource management, system failures, and less internal control. Concurrently, the research identified tools available for helping businesses, such as HSBC bank in Oman, overcome their challenges. These include the soft system methodology, culture web, McKinsey’s 7S framework (discussed in the previous paper), interest matrix and stakeholders’ fundamental requirements. Additionally, tools such as climate assessment survey make or buy matrix, nominal group techniques, stakeholder analysis, hard systems approach, force field analysis in addition to mapping and restructuring implements can help increase the competitiveness of business. The aim of this part of the research is to create a critical review of the previous paper by evaluating concepts and theories as discussed above.

Soft Systems Methodology

Ideally, what this meant is that the research at the University endeavored to apply a Hard Systems strategy to fix business-related problems.
