Marketing Introduction This is an analysis which was carried out in Mexican restaurants. Comparisons were drawn between two restaurants namely: Jose’s Southwestern Cafe and Santa Fe Grill. It involved studying various aspects of their daily operations. For instance, the number of people, who frequently take their meals in both hotels, how often they visit the hotels and the gender comparisons observed among others. This study is generally based on numbers, tabular representations with some touch of statistics involved. Everything being done here has been deduced from the various tables that were used to represent or showcase the data based on the various aspects of operation in the two hotels involved in this study. Further details are provided in the subsequent parts of this analysis. When studies were made to determine the number of people visiting either of the two restaurants, it was discovered that the number of people who attended Santa Fe Grill on the given day was 253 as compared to that of Jose’s Southwestern Café of 152. This means that, more people like Santa Fe Grill than Jose’s Southwestern Café. However, the mean of the latter was higher than that of Santa Fe Grill with figures of 3.79 and 2.92 respectively. The frequent number of times the visitors came into the restaurant was three times in the Jose’s Southwestern Café as compared to Santa Fe Grill which was twice. Among 152 numbers of visitors who attended the Jose’s Southwestern Café restaurant, three were found to be infrequent, eight were somewhat infrequent, fifty eight occasionally visit the restaurant, thirty two were somewhat frequent and fifty one were very frequent. In Santa Fe Grill, out of 253 visitors who came into the restaurant, forty nine were found to be very infrequent, sixty two were somewhat infrequent, forty three occasionally visited the restaurant, fifty nine were somewhat infrequent and forty were very frequent. From the total number of people who visited Jose’s Southwestern Café on the material day, two percent were very infrequent, five point three percent were somewhat infrequent, thirty eight point two percent were occasional, twenty one point one percent were somewhat frequent and thirty three point six percent were very frequent. At Santa Fe Grill restaurant, nineteen point four percent were very infrequent, twenty four point five percent were somewhat infrequent, and seventeen percent occasional, twenty three point three percent were somewhat frequent and fifteen point eight percent very frequent. The total number of people who visited the two restaurants was five hundred and five. From this number it can be concluded that the number of people who visited Santa Fe Grill was higher than those who visited Jose’s Southwestern Café by one hundred and one, the difference being almost the same as the number of people who visited Santa Fe Grill. From the same tabular representation, it can be concluded that the number of very infrequent, somewhat infrequent, occasional, somewhat frequent and very frequent visitors in Santa Fe Grill was higher than that of Jose’s Southwestern Café. The cumulative percentage of very infrequent, somewhat infrequent, occasional, somewhat frequent and very frequent visitors at Jose’s Southwestern Café was 2%, 7.2%, 45.4%, 66.4% and 100% respectively. At Santa Fe Grill, the cumulative percentage of very infrequent, somewhat infrequent, occasional, somewhat frequent and very frequent visitors was 19.4%, 43.9%, 60.9%, 84.2% and 100% respectively. In Jose’s Southwestern Café, an average of 4.12 out of 152 visitors who attended the restaurant considered the prices there to be reasonable with a standard deviation of 0.906 which led to a standard error mean of 0.073 unlike in Santa Fe Grill with an average of 4.47 of 253 visitors who attended the restaurant, the standard deviation resulted to 1.384 which is 0.087 standard error mean. The mean difference in Jose’s Southwestern Café on reasonable prices was -1.882 and that of Santa Fe Grill was -1.530. This had an implication that the main difference was higher at Santa Fe Grill than Jose’s Southwestern Café. Under 95% confidence interval of the difference, on the lower limit, Jose’s Southwestern Café and Santa Fe Grill had figures of -2.03 and -1.7 respectively. On the upper limit, Santa Fe Grill and Jose’s Southwestern Café had figures of -1.36 and 1.74, meaning that of Santa Fe Grill was still higher on the upper limit as it did on the lower limit. In the advertisement cases, there was no gender parity where 100% of 253 people were in support of it in Santa Fe Grill. In Favorite Mexican Restaurant, people who attended were divided into female and male. In advertisement, there were people who could not recall advertisement and those who could recall. This was further made to consider members of both genders who fell under the two categories on recall of advertisement. At Santa Fe Grill, the count of male visitors who could not recall advertisement was 143 as compared to 65 of females. The expected count of those who could not recall advertisement among males and females was 144.7 and 63.3 respectively which resulted to 68.8% of males and 31.3% of females. Among those who could recall advertisement, the males and females had account of 33 and 12 respectively. The expected count was 31.3 and 13.7 for males and females which resulted to 73.3% and 26.7% respectively. The total count of males and females was 176 and 77 respectively while the total expected count for the same was 176 and 77 respectively. The total percentage for advertisement recall was 69.6% and 30.4% for males and females at Santa Fe Grill. In Santa Fe Grill, those who drove for less than a mile to the restaurant had a count of 74 males and 12 females. The expected count in males was 59.8 while that of females was 26.2 which resulted into 86% and 14% respectively. For those who drove for 1-5miles, the males and females had a count of 45 and 31 respectively. The expected count for males and females was 59.9 and 23.1 which resulted to 40.8% and 59.2% respectively. Among those who drove for more than 5miles, the males and females had a count of 57 and 34 respectively. The expected count was 27.7 and 63.3 for females and males which resulted in 37.4 % and 62.6% respectively. The total count was 77 and 176 for females and males while the expected count for the same was 77.0 and 176.0 at Santa Fe Grill. At Santa Fe Grill, for those who drove for less than a mile, the total count and total expected count was 86 and 86.0. Among those who drove for 1-5 miles, the total count and the total expected count was 76 and 76.0. For those who drove for more than 5 miles, the total count and total expected count was 91 and 91.0. This adds to total count of 253 and total expected count of 253.0. At Santa Fe Grill, in terms of satisfaction, the number of clients, mean and standard deviation was 176, 4.70 and 1.034 for males respectively. At Jose’s Southwestern Café, the numbers of male clients, mean and standard deviation were 88, 4.75 and 0.974 respectively. The number, mean and standard deviation of male clients who were likely to return to Santa Fe Grill is 176, 4.29 and 0.710 respectively. At Jose’s Southwestern Café, the number, mean and standard deviation of male clients were 88, 4.32 and 1.209 respectively. The number of male clients, the mean and standard deviation in Santa Fe Grill restaurant were 176, 3.78 and 0.861 for those who were likely to recommend. At Jose’s Southwestern Café, the number, mean and standard deviation of males who could recommend were 88, 3.23 and 1.162 respectively. In Females, The number of clients, mean and standard deviation of those who were satisfied at Jose’s Southwestern Café were 64, 6.08 and 0.878 respectively while at Santa Fe Grill, the same were 77, 4.18 and 0.823 respectively. The number of clients, the mean and standard deviation were 64, 5.84 and 0.781 for females who were likely to return to Jose’s Southwestern Café unlike in Santa Fe Grill where the same had figures of 77, 3.88 and 1.051 respectively. The number, the mean and standard deviation of females who were likely to recommend Jose’s Southwestern Café were 64, 5.23 and 0.988 as compared to figures of 77, 3.22 and 1.059 for the same at Santa Fe Grill. Conclusion The two Mexican Restaurants namely; Jose’s Southwestern Café and Santa Fe Grill vary a lot in terms of the number of clients that they handle, the gender complexities, Clients’ satisfaction, their pricing, distance ranges covered by their customers to the restaurants among other variances. All these have been critically analyzed from what had been provided by several tabular representations. Santa Fe Grill generally appears to be more appealing to people as compared to Jose’s Southwestern Café based on the flow of customers to the former restaurant.
