JetBlue takes part in numerous cultural awareness and civic engagement efforts that positively affect the business outcomes. Most importantly, JetBlue comprehends that cultural awareness is the basis of communication with its clients, workers and other stakeholders (JetBlue, 2017). In the present day’s airline industry, the demographics are changing with each new day, and the focus is no longer on the business people but also for the tourists and students. Notably, it is also significant to consider a diverse workforce with distinct cultural backgrounds and establish shared values and norms at the workplace (Rothlin & McCann, 2016).

Various companies operating in the airline industry have been working towards the adoption of best practices of inclusion and diversity in their workforce. For this reason, JetBlue will not be left out in its Cheap Flights program. Cheap Flights is expected to serve a diverse customer base, and its workers will also be expected to replicate the same thing. JetBlue has five crew member resource groups that include the JetPride, Women in Flight, Blue Connexion and Vets. The JetPride offers educations to employees on the matters that impact the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community. In 2015, the employees of JetBlue celebrated after the Supreme Court ruling that legalized same marriage. The Women in Flight supports and advocates for professional development among the women in JetBlue (JetBlue, 2016).

Reaching Blue Heights Program

As part of JetBlue’s cultural diversity and inclusion, the company has a disability initiative that allows the people with disability to apply for the reaching blue heights. This program allows the people with disabilities to apply job openings within the company as well as offering support to students with disabilities. JetBlue offers job training to generate talent among people of all abilities. For this reason, Cheap Flights will also have a similar program that will focus on promoting talent among people of all walks of life and abilities.
