The third company, Carter Aviation Technologies has developed the Carter Copter. The Carter Copter is an Auto Gyro/airplane hybrid that will also be road able. The importance of tailoring the strategy to best fit your target audience and fulfilling their needs and expectations is the deciding factor between success and failure. Direct marketing through a dependent organized dealer network and internet sales representatives and website will facilitate reaching their customer base effective. The type of product is usually the determining factor in level and scope of distribution is adequate for a given market segment.

For Terrafugia, and their Transition road able aircraft, they are going to cater a niche market of affluent, upscale, sport minds consumer. By positioning themselves as the ultimate “luxury transportation experience”, Terrafugia must deliver a luxurious , exclusive unique experience for their customer. From the luxurious dealer showrooms to their custom built Transition aircraft, the company must create an environment and portray an image of exclusivity, luxury while keeping their sense of freedom and adventure.

T he company need to tailor their marketing to suit the demands and high expectations of their customer base. The Transition will be the first mass marketed road legal airplane in the market which are scheduled to be released in 2011.Tailored for a high-end luxury niche market, the Transition provides all the sophistication and features of a regular light airplane, albeit with a distinct advantage of being a front wheel drive road legal vehicle. Although the Transition will be a road legal car, it is not meant to replace your automobile for everyday use.
