Personal Career Analysis: Elemenarty Teacher - Research Paper Example

Elementary school teachers are individuals with patience, dedication, compassion and understanding. They are individuals that give their all in orderto see intrigue and excitement in their students eyes. They are individuals who use their successful skills in order to help develop success in their students academic lives. It is a profession I have always admired because of these reasons. My admiration for this field started as a young adult when I was given opportunities to mentor younger students.

I realized that I thoroughly enjoyed being a role model and making a positive difference in others lives. Teaching is a profession that I know I will be extremely proud to undertake. What interests me the most of the profession itself is that the entire job is focused around improving the lives of others. It focuses on making positive life changes in students. I could never picture myself having a me-centred occupation. I would never be able to measure success by how many products I have sold or how many clients I have obtained.

I instead, I have chosen to measure my success by how many students I have been able to help or how many negative opinions I have changed about school. I know that I have to work hard to reach my goal of working in the classroom. I plan to try my very best and put forward my best efforts in order to achieve each and every goal I need to meet in order to graduate and complete a successful teaching practicum. I also know that teaching can be a tough career. It will not all be easy in fact, for the most part, it will be a challenge.

Job prospects are promising due to the fact that there will always be a need for teachers. The amount of teachers needed however will altar based on enrolment. There will be shifts in teaching employment rates. I am prepared for the fact that there is a possibility that it could take me several years to achieve a full term teaching position. Once in the classroom I know there will also be shifts and specific trends. Based on how students are performing, there may be changes in curriculum. Perhaps mathematics will be integrated into every subject or a stronger influence will be placed on guided literacy programs.

We see these trends today. Currently many states are looking to improve their math programs. As a teacher I will need to be very flexible as it is inevitable that things will be constantly changing in order to address the needs of my students.Despite trends in curriculum or teaching practices one fact that will never change is that I want to teach. I feel as though it is in my blood. I want to invest as much in my students as several of my teachers invested in me. I want to be the teacher that uses all the creativity that I have to create an exciting learning environment.

I want to be the teacher that inspires students to try their best despite any learning challenges they may have. I want to be the teacher students look up to, the teacher that puts the same desire to succeed as my teachers put in me. I will continue to work towards my goal and I look forward to having a very prosperous and long lived teaching career in the future.
