Racal telecom later detached itself from Racal Electronics in nineteen ninety one and formed what is today known as Vodafone group. Vodafone later bought two thirds of Talk land for around thirty million pounds in nineteen ninety-six. Consumers of Talkland, a one eighty one chain store, overpoweringly utilized Vodafone’s network. Correspondingly, Vodafone purchased a service provider entitled Astec Communications. Vodafone later unraveled its speech mark emblem in a circle and the “O” symbolizes conversation. Top competitors Vodafone’s top competitors include; BT Group, AT&T, Deutsche Telecom AT&T, Orange, and Deutsche Telecom .These companies’ exhibit positive returns on assets as compared to Vodafone. SWOT analysis Strengths Weaknesses Vodafone has expanded its geographical locations with powerful telecommunication maneuvers in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and United States to some degree. Vodafone also has a powerful network structure and leads in upcoming markets like India. In addition, Vodafone has emerged the strongest corporation in terms of performance in many nations. Vodafone is not competing favorably and other companies such as BT Group are taking a toll on it. The company’s operations in the United States are also not as strong as the others across the world. The company is therefore not fully exploring the United States potential market. Another aspect that affects Vodafone negatively is the fact that nearly all of its operations are concentrated in Europe. In addition to these weaknesses, rural areas lack network access. Opportunities Threats The corporation can focus on reducing its costs, which in turn will enhance returns. The company can also focus in its majority stakes in markets such as India. Vodafone can also research and venture in new mobile technologies. Another opportunity for the company entails appropriate tariff bundles Vodafone’s threats on the other hand include stiff competition from its rivals. In the United States, the company faces major competitors and this is why it still lags behind in this particular nation. Another threat to the company is the fact that there is a high penetration level in major European markets hence competition is considerably stiff. The regulations on cross border mobile usage by consumers are also strict thus; this complicates the company’s operations. Communications Press coverage In June 2011, the press reported that Vodafone had experienced the highest growth in revenue above expectations in the first quarter of the year. The company explained that the demand for phones that can connect to the web has significantly increased hence the company’s sales have heightened. The press has also reported that the chief executive is merging the company’s activities in current markets. Awards Vodafone has won several awards in the past few years. Some of these awards include excellent employee contribution and most innovative marketing promotion and Telecom inventor of the year and transforming lives. The company won these awards last year. Other awards entails top mobile cash transfer service provider, fine practices and best cell phone money service. These three awards were won in 2009. In addition to these five awards, Vodafone has won other seven awards between 2007 and 2008. This clearly indicates the upward position of the company in the current times. I do not let anger to rule my life and therefore, I take everything to be positive. In group work, I have always been chosen the leader because of my independence of thinking. I have once achieved 90% score in self dependence and control test. Initiative I have always been initiative in that I have able to set up new systems of accounting such as payroll systems, once I am taken in a company. So as to be able to answer them however, an interviewee ought to be able to compose himself and have enough knowledge on the relevant issues like the position he held in the previous company and some of the responsibilities that were required of him.
