TBA (Green Motorsport) Green Motorsport is one of the motorsport racing event that took place in USA in the year 2009. Several traditional motorsports racing championship faced significant issues due to high consumption of fossil fuel of the racing cars. This study will determine the significance of the green motorsport racing championships and the science behind the technology that has been implemented in order to implement the technology. The report will help to determine its significance and positive impact on the racing. Introduction It is true that the automotive motor sporting world has a long history of moving the automobile industry, especially the car industry. This automotive racing world forwarded through the use of new technology and development. It is true that global environment is getting affected due to high consumption of fossil fuel and growing emission level of Carbon. The huge popularity of World Motorsport and negative impact on the environment forced the automotive industry, Energy department of United States of America and Environmental protection agency of the United States of America started to take the initiative to manufacture and design green racing vehicles. It is true that high sped and heavy racing vehicles need huge energy to perform effectively in a race. But, the automotive industry decided that the time has come to harness the creativity, innovation and efficiency to improve the effectiveness of the vehicles both on the track and off the track. Motorsport is considered as one of the popular sporting events that significantly contributed to the socio-cultural and economical development of a country. In addition to this, these specific events help to attract global visitors to experience the events. Looking into these aspects, several regulatory bodies, government of country and motorsport agency try to maintain sustainability of world motorsport events. Discussion It is clear from the introduction that the governmental bodies and motorsport agency is trying to introduce green motorsport racing in order to maintain environmental sustainability. Following discussion will help the readers to understand about its historical implication, economic and social issues and cultural perspective of this green motorsport racing event. Historical Implication Massive use of fossil fuel affects the environmental balance. High carbon emission level is the major consequence of the consumption of fossil fuel. It is known to all that motorsport vehicles consume high every fossil fuel as energy resources. In addition to this, consumption level of fuels is comparatively high than other normal public vehicles. Governments of several countries are trying to motivate several agencies and organization to consider the fact of environment sustainability. Motorsport events are considered as the major economic growth driver of a country. The number of viewers and popularity among the viewers about motorsport is increasing at a significant rate. In addition to this, several motor sporting events are directly contributing to the growth of sports tourism industry as these events attract significant number of global viewers. However, the negative consequences of using fossil fuel forced the federal government of United States of America to try some different in these events. The American Le Mans Series which is known as ALMS was the first ever racing series that adopted the valuable green racing protocol. In addition to this, this racing series incorporates these protocols into a particular season-long prestigious Green Racing Championship award in the year 2009. At the end of each and every race the racing teams from the Grand Touring Classes and Le Mans Prototype won the best championship award due to the fastest speed, best efficiency and lowest energy consumption (Energy, 2012). The awareness of this specific event spread all around the world. The significance of this mentioned green motorsport racing motivated each and every motorsport industry around the globe to implement green and sustainable strategy. Fuel efficient racing vehicles, electronic racing vehicles are getting introduced in order to meet the parameter of environmental sustainability. In addition to this, several small and medium automotive technological organizations are trying to incorporate advanced technological instruments in the vehicles in order to limit the consumption level and burning of fossil fuel. The market demand and influence of the federal government of United States of America motivated the motorsport agencies to organize green motorsport racing championship. Economic Issues Global motorsport agencies understood the significance of the implementation of green strategy in the events. These agencies motivated the motorsport racing teams to participate in the green championships with fuel efficient green cars. Recent financial crisis and global economic recession affected the global economic environment. Several sectors and industries suffered from the impact of this global economic downturn. The motorsports industry also suffered from this effect. It is true that it was difficult for the small and medium organizations to develop green automotive motorsport racing vehicles in this challenging economic situation. The organizations were seeking for huge capital in order to manufacture the vehicles and process these in the events. However, slowly and gradually the impact of economic slowdown started to abolish from global market. In this period of time, it was quite difficult for the manufacturing organizations to make a business deal with the venture capitalist who are interested in green technology. On the other hand, low purchasing power of people and several global visitors affected the profitability of the motorsport agencies. However, the agencies finally able to overcome the impacts due to significant support from the governments and change in market demand. Social Issues and Cultural Perspectives The awareness about green vehicles was increasing significantly among the people in the late 2000s. Several motorsports loving spectators or the viewers understood the significance of use of green and fuel efficient vehicles. Several leading sports and automobile manufacturing organizations started to responds to the customer’s need and market demand. On the other hand, the governments of several countries are trying to influence the automotive manufacturers and designers to consider the significance of green technology in the business process. People of different social and cultural backgrounds are seeking for green and environment friendly sporting events. Several global motorsport agencies are trying to consider this demand of people (Edmondson, 2011). In addition to this, these green motorsport racing events are trying to motivate the leading and popular racing teams to participate in it. High carbon emission and environment pollution are the major reasons behind the rapid climate change and serious human diseases. The utilization of green technology can help entire community and society in this world to survive with good health and safety. Science behind the Motorsport Technology The racing teams that participate in several motorsport racing events are used to get sponsor from different automobile companies. The racers of different racing teams use different racing vehicles of different brands in specific racing events. In the year 2013, the Red Bull racing team won the 2013 Formula 1 world championship. It is highly important for the automotive racing vehicle manufacturing organizations to maintain the quality and efficiency in the vehicles along with the green technology (Economist, 2010). The American Slovak company is known as one of the most leading racing vehicles engine manufacturing and distributing companies. This organization first took the initiative to manufacture and introduce green instruments for the racing cars. It is true that racing cars require high BHP engine that can maintain the high speed characteristic of a racing car. In addition to this, high BHP engines require high energy source in order to perform effectively. High combustion of fuel generate huge energy source that helps to perform the high BHP engines significantly. This high consumption of fossil fuel results high level of carbon emission (Couldwell, 2012). However, the American Slovak Company has introduced highly efficient and powerful turbocharged engine for the racing sports cars and vehicles. This specific turbo charger concept in the engines reduced the level of oil combustion rate without affecting the horse power of the engines. The extraction of oils or other energy sources automatically get reduced through this turbo charger concept of the engines. Therefore, it reduces the burning rate of the fossil fuel which minimizes the threat of high carbon emission. In addition to this, the organization is trying to incorporate technologically advanced materials in the engine and body parts so that the engine and overall parts of racing vehicles last for a longer period of time. Now-a-days, several leading car manufacturers and distributors are outsourcing these engines from the European courtiers and states of America. This particular integration of technology boosted the European motorsport industry. The industry generated revenue about 1 million Euro through this concept (Gov, 2013). The engine manufacturing organization became the most profitable manufacturers, suppliers and distributors in America by inventing and integrating the turbo charger technology in the engine. Sanctioning Bodies It is discussed earlier that the federal government of United States of America and the energy department of the United States influenced the US motorsport industry and several agencies to use green technologies in the sporting events. In addition to this, the government and the sports ministry of the United States of America motivated the global motorsport racing agencies to initiate a green motorsport racing event. On the other hand, the demand for these events was increasing among the spectators and several internal and external stakeholders. Looking into these aspects, several motorsport racing agencies started to propose to the sports ministry and federal government of United States of America to get the green single. The sports ministry, city councils and federal government of United States of America sanctioned to first ever green motorsport racing. The energy department of United States of America started to help the small and medium organizations that used to manufacture and distribute green technological equipments that can reduce the consumption of energy sources. Significance of Contribution and Subsequent Impact on racing Global sports industry is becoming highly competitive as several sporting agencies are trying to implement different strategies that can attract the sports lovers. Motorsports industry is considered as one of the most popular and leading sports industry. The significance of this sport can be reflected into several areas. First of all, several motorsports racing championships help the economy of a particular country to achieve significant growth rate. On the other hand, the sports industry is collaboratively performing with the tourist industry in order to target both the sports and tourist loving individuals. It is known to the entire high speed racing cars with higher BHP engines are used in several motorsports racing events. The passion and dream to see the stars and their heroics encourage several sports loving spectators to attract towards a sports event. It is discussed earlier that the motor sporting agencies and power department under the federal government of the United States of America collaboratively initiated the green motorsport racing championship in the year 2009. The significant contribution of the several small and medium technological firms made this event quite successful. In addition to this, several sports stars and celebrities experienced the significance of this event. Utilization of advanced technology and green turbo chargers box engines in the racing cars helped the racing teams to minimize the emission level of carbon that are occurred due to high consumption of fossil fuel energy resources. In addition to this, longevity of vehicles and engines created huge awareness among the public and other stakeholders. These green energy resource and fuel efficient engines have a great impact on the motorsport racing events around the globe. It is highly important for several automotive racing vehicle manufacturers and motorsport racing event agencies to consider this aspect as the market demand and needs of the stakeholders is changing at a rapid pace (Hitt, Ireland and Hoskisson, 2012). In addition to this, each and every organization or sporting agency is trying to maintain the sustainability in the events. However, the introduction of green motorsport racing event will be successful to get more number of support from the audiences and regulatory bodies as it will help to balance the sustainability of several external environmental factors. Conclusion It is clear from above discussions that the demand and acceptance of the green motorsport racing events is significantly increasing among the sports lovers. It is a quite popular sporting event among people of different countries. various automobile parts manufacturing and distributing organizations are focusing on manufacturing green and fuel efficient high BHP engines for the racing cars in order to react to the current market demand and follow to the developed legislations and rules. It is sure that this type of racing event will gain huge popularity and acceptance in near future as several world motorsport racing championships are planning to integrate this option in the events.
