Many companies prefer to employ adults rather than having youngsters due to more experience and capabilities. For instance, a company would prefer to have a 40-year old manager rather than having a 28-year-old youngster with higher education for the same post. In other words, adults are much more comfortable with resolving problems and they manage to do so easily. Institutions, where both young and adult students are enrolled, have a very strong inter-generational relationship. Exchange of ideas, the flow of knowledge and wisdom, interpersonal communication, and reduced differences in mental level can be well-observed in such institutions.

The generation gap has been overcome to a large extent. In short, older adult students have seen to be more socially responsible than the younger ones. Negative Effects of Adult EducationBesides having a positive effect on the lives of people, this trend is causing some discomforts as well. According to an article in 'The Washington Post', many private colleges and universities of higher education have now lowered their fees in recession to reach maximum enrollment as they are concerned about the students choosing public universities and institutions with fewer fees.

People, especially adults, are benefiting themselves by taking admissions into private colleges. As a result, the population in universities and colleges is increasing day-by-day making it difficult for the deans and staff members to manage class schedules. Teachers have to work extra hours to educate a large number of students and to cover up courses on time. In companies, where adults are given the training to match the future needs and modernization, youngsters are complaining that their progress and scope have become limited.

They feel that adults will never tolerate youngsters superseding them. This conflict is causing an imbalance in the working atmospheres of the companies hence forcing the youngsters to keep changing their jobs. Moreover, companies cut down the incentives offered to youngsters to adjust the salaries for adults. It is reported that this trend will continue for the next several months.
