Earlier print media was the leader in media world whereas television achieved prominence during the latter half of the twentieth century. Many people still believe that print and television media has not lost its prominence even though internet is gaining grounds. One the other hand, lot many people believe that the television and print media have lost its significance and internet became a more reliable media compared to the other media available at present. This paper argues in favour of using internet as the more reliable media than television or news print.
Pleshette (2003) has mentioned that “with the increasing popularity of the Internet, newspapers face declining readership and market penetration and a growing number of readers now skip the print version of the newspaper and instead read the online version of the publication” (Pleshette, 2003). Print media is incapable of delivering the news in time to the readers as it require enough time for the preparation, printing and publishing of news. On the other hand internet is capable of delivering the news instantly to the public. People are always keen in knowing the news or events as fast as possible. Television can deliver the news or events as quickly as internet, but it has the limitation of reproducing the news again and again. Internet has no such problems and viewers can again and again watch the events and learn more about it through repeated reading or watching.
News papers and television media may not always give you a wide reach. Internet, on the other hand, can target a global audience (Lad, 2010). It is impossible for print media to reach all over the world. It is not necessary that all the printed materials be in English. Same way television programs also may have the linguistic problems while communicating with the global population. Internet on the other hand, has not many such problems as most of the internet
