Introduction of Computing in AviationThe scope of aviation involves assembling, operation and use of aircrafts. Computing in aviation therefore defines implementation of computer-based applications to any of the aviation processes. This paper develops an applicable in class activity, which utilizes social media, to the scope of computing in aviation. Name of the social media toolThe applied social media tool for the activity is “Actionly Social Media Monitoring” tool, an instrument that allows a person or a business entity to monitor and evaluate return on investment in social media.

The tool integrates with Google applications to allow an entity to view responses to its post in the social media (Actionly, p. 1).Direction for the activityThe activity involves creating of a social media page, in both facebook and twitter, for class members, and encouraging the members to engage in one or both of the social media actively and honestly engage with information that the involvement will be used for learning purposes. A class member is then asked to make anonymous posts with different research topics in both social media.

The Actionly Social media Monitoring tool is then used to collect data on the responses by class members per research topic and frequencies of the responses from both media recorded for further analysis. This will identify effectiveness of research topics in generating responses (Actionly, p. 1).Why this activity is important to the courseThe activity is important to the course because the scope of the course involve development of computer-based applications in aviation that should consider users’ opinions before developments.
