Lesson Plan Reflections Do you feel your lesson objectives were clear? Provide examples from you lesson to support this conclusion.  My lesson objectives were clear since they expressed the knowledge and skills I wanted the students to have learnt by the end of the lesson. For example, the Multi syllable small group lesson-learning objective was to teach the students the rules followed in construction of multi-syllable words and enable them create their own multi-syllable. This clearly stated the aim of the lesson and guided me on what I was supposed to emphasize on.

Moreover, they provided insights on the instructional strategies that be used to monitor the student’s learning progress.2) Did the activities you planned support the learning objectives? Provide examples to from your lesson to support this conclusion. The activities I planned supported the learning objective since they were related to the lesson work and aimed at enabling the student understand the concepts for every lesson. For example, reading the story on time and pointing to the clock to depict the different time mentioned engaged the students since it entailed use of both audio and visual learning aides.

This fostered the students to meet the learning objectives. The other activity for the math lesson on time around the world required the students to draw picture to indicate digital times as well as analog time. This meets the objective, which was to enable students to tell time using analog and digital clocks. 3) How do you know the students were successful/not successful in meeting the learning objectives? Provide examples from your lesson to support this conclusion. I could tell whether the students were successful in achieving the objectives depending on how they performed in the after lesson assessments.

For example, the objective of the Social Studies lesson on Girl on the Go was to enable students remember the different countries they had learnt in the history lesson. The story used different monuments in association with different countries. To assess if the students met the objectives, I asked post-reading questions that covered what happened in the beginning middle and end of the story. Moreover, I asked the students to mention the countries that Isabella visited, what the different countries were famous for, and they answered correctly.

Additionally, the students were supposed to tell each other countries they had visited, to see if they remembered the previous lessons.4) What worked well? I realized that student learn better through activities. For example, after reading the story about the Girl on the Go, I realized that students could easily remember the courtiers mentioned in the story as compared to other countries covered in previous lessons. They would also associate different monuments with the countries where they are located.

Moreover, use of pictures and a clock in the math class made the lesson interesting and the students were excited when they realized how easy it was to master the concepts when doing it practically. Although the concept had appeared hard while I was teaching, involving the students made learning easier. 5) What would you do differently next time?Next time I would prepare a short activity to be done before the start of the lesson, especially in math lesson to help the students remember the concepts of the previous lesson.

Moreover, such an activity will help students connect previous concepts with the new concepts to make learning continuous. Moreover, I will try to look for activities that the students are more familiar with. For example, instead of reading the story as we did in the Social Studies, it would be preferable to ask each student to first mention a country they can remember. Additionally, including some activities where one of the students comes to the chalkboard and demonstrates to the others how to carry out an activity would make learning more interesting.
