With concern to the cultural walk regarding the different phases of life, it is observed that since the beginning of life individuals always want to know the purpose of their existence. The realities of life that are birth, death are not known to anybody and therefore people search for the reason behind their life. People often find themselves in a situation where they may think that what will happen and where will they go after life ends. This made the people think that whether they will return to earth if they die.

As we are moving with the improvement in technology, people from all walks of life following different cultures are more willing to know about their future existence on this planet. People are always with the problem of identifying their purpose in life. The universe, the life on earth, and mankind all are the gift of God and nature and so are to be judged equally as believed by an individual. Moreover, people from different cultural backgrounds have varied views towards life and the perception of individuals has also changed due to technology.

People are no closer to nature hence affecting their walk of life. With regard to this aspect of life, it can be depicted that life has become more materialistic and happiness is no more grounded with nature. Kirkpatrick Sale mainly focuses on technology and the various challenges people are facing due to the improvements in technology. The Rebel against the future takes us back to the period of 1811 when people were feared of Luddite rebellion. The author tells us the story of Luddites’ who in order to save the jobs and the way of life of the people engaged himself in the job of destroying the machines.

The advancement in the technology and implementation of the new innovative ways of performing of the work resulted in the replacement of the manual works. So the people were in s fear of losing their jobs. Therefore in order to preserve the jobs of the people Luddite started to destroy the machines. Improvements in technology and high aims of life may lead people to select the wrong path. In this case, we state the example Faust; he was successful in his profession yet not happy with his life.

This has made him make a deal with the devil. The deal here suggests the exchange of his core competencies with pleasures. The paper suggests that human beings are faced with increasing problems in life due to the improvements in technology (Sale, 1996). The culture walk of people has changed and they are more confined to materialistic aspects and are in a race to achieve success as experienced.
