Nursing Evolutions HealthCare Policy Do you think the healthcare system in the US is thebest in the world? Why or why not? Present your views, substantiated by at least two articles you find in your literature search on the topic.Important people in the community and wealthy individuals often come to the United States to seek medical care. Statistics show that Canadians wait much longer for services and procedures than Americans. These statistics led Americans to believe that we have the best system in the world (Davis, 2014).

There are however other statistics that indicate otherwise. The whole of the U.S. health delivery system needs a check-up. The reality is that the U.S. Healthcare system is not the best in the world. The Social Progress Index, a system that deals with healthcare services, rates the United States of America as 70th among 132 nations in service delivery concerning health and wellness (Kantarjian, 2014). The survey was in 2014. The Commonwealth Fund statistics and analysis ranks the U.S. last among seven nations they did their statistics in health care.

Debate the possible consequences of the health care delivery system of adding millions of new enrollees. How would this policy impact schools, medical practices, clinics, hospitals and outpatient diagnostic centers? What role would advance practice play in accommodation of new enrollees? The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act have led to millions of new enrollees to the healthcare and insurance systems. The act has implications for Public Health Policy and Practice. New enrollees on the systems, however, might slow down operations (PPACA, 2010).

The new law would, however, strengthen the already existing forms of health insurance coverage. It would also build a new and affordable health insurance market for families as well as individuals (Department of Health and Human Services, 2010). The policies would cover people who do not have affordable employer coverage.Discuss the impact of value-based performance on your work/practice setting. Provide an example of a policy change related to this. The impact of value-based performance has an echo across many professions especially nursing practice.

The impact is that it has made people have evidence-based quality improvement on their services. There has also been an increase in healthcare transformation. Another impact is in the need for redesigning the care that we give to the patients. We ensure that is safe, effective, and efficient. Nurses have a response of launching initiatives that give to the maximum valuable contributions that nurses can make, have made, and will make, to fully deliver on the patients. Visit a local, state, or federal meeting regarding issues that could impact health and health care delivery and share your experience with your classmates.

I had a visit to the hospital policy committee meeting at my Hospital. The issues on the discussion at the meeting were how to improve the services at the hospital to be fast and efficient for our clients. Our hospital also considered bringing the most modern ICU and ER equipment to serve our patients better. The meeting was educative, and I left having learned a lot of ways to be a better nurse. I also had a lesson on improving my efficiency in service delivery. ReferencesDavis, K. (2014).
