Changing Our Lives It has aptly been observed that every human establishes one or more goals and targets in life, the achievement of which becomes the major aim and objective of his life. It is goals that serve as guiding stars to show the path leading to one’s glorious destination. If there are no dreams, wishes, desires, hopes, and goals before humans, life would turn out to be drab, dull, dismal, and dark. Additionally, goals create awareness, broaden vision and exposure and give purpose and meaning to life, and bring imperative alterations in the pattern of life and activities.

Moreover, establishing of goals indicates how much progress has been made and how far one is from his destination. Thus, like millions of people, I have also established a few goals to be achieved in my life. One of my primary goals is to seek higher professional education in the USA. Since I belong to the Middle East, proceeding to the USA for acquiring Masters's Degree in International Relations is my prime ambition. It would be a token of great honor, respect, and prestige when my family members, friends, and relations would introduce me to others as a foreign-qualified young man.

It would certainly boost my morale and I would experience the bewitching fragrance of pride and respect in my mind. Proceeding to Western societies for seeking professional education is really a pleasant dream for the Arab youth because lucrative jobs and rapid promotions are in wait for such qualified persons on their return to their native country. During my stay in the USA, I will be able to learn many things related to the culture, civilization, society, religion, and politics of the world.

It is a reality beyond suspicion that the USA is a multicultural society, where people belonging to divergent racial, ethnic, regional, religious, and cultural groups and communities live together. My stay in that country will make me comprehend all racial and ethnic groups, which will be highly supportive for me in dealing with the person of every culture of the globe. “The US society is the amalgamation of world cultures, where Asians, Africans, Europeans, and Australians enter into interaction with one another, and hence remain in the communication of different types.

” (Macionis, 2007: 377) Consequently, my stay in the USA will also be helpful in learning the English language. Being the most popular language of the world, English is understood and spoken in all corners of the globe and hence serves as the most important medium of communication all over the world. Even Arabs, Chinese, and Russians learn English to communicate with foreigners. Thus, my fluency in English speaking and listening will earn me a sound reputation for me in my community. As a result, I can easily get allocated to the research and analysis department of the Saudi Embassy, where I have already been working as captain.

Upon the completion of my Masters's Degree in the USA, I will certainly be granted a promotion in the royal army of Saudi Arabia from captain to major, and onward. Being a career-oriented qualification, it would pave the way towards fast climbing the career ladder for me for the future years to come. Not only I can obtain higher ranks and positions in the national army of my motherland like my father, but also it will provide me golden opportunity of serving my country. Since I joined the army as a 2nd lieutenant and have reached the position of captain in the Saudi Embassy of the USA, I may reach the position of general one day.

The imagination of finding myself in the uniform of a high military official is really fascinating and superb for me, which not only rejoices my feelings but also increases my passion to work day in and day out for making my dream a reality. To conclude, it becomes evident that goals and dreams serve as the most precious element in man’s life, and are beneficial in the development of personality on the one hand, and in respect of the accomplishments of tasks and obligations on the other. Looking into the history of the world at large, it is apparent that even individuals of the highest rank had established goals regarding the selection of profession and career in life.

For instance, Napoleon Bonaparte was medium-height and physically tender; however, he set a goal of joining the French army at any cost. It was his dogged will and determination that led him to the position of the conqueror of the entire continent of Europe. Thus, determining goals and making the most sincere efforts for the achievements of the same earn pelf, power, and popularity in human life subsequently, and change the very scenario of human life.
