Analysis of Imagies in MCA Denver Museum - Essay Example

 The MCA Denver organizes exhibitions and events where the works of emerging as well as eminent artists are exhibited to the public. Defiant Gardens MCA Denver is organizing an exhibition of awesome artworks by noted sculptor, Dario Robleto in the “David & Laura Merage Foundation Gallery,” and the “Lu & Chris Law Gallery” where the sculptures will be available for public display from February 4, 2011, to May 15, 2011 (“Dario Robleto: An Instinct Toward Life,” par. 2). The artist is well-known for his sculptures that utilize the memorabilia of warfare, including bullets, bone dust, pulp made from letters of soldiers sent to their wives, threads of fabric obtained from the soldiers’ clothes, etc.

This image “Defiant Gardens” is a part of the artist’s collection entitled, “An Instinct Toward Life” (“Dario Robleto: An Instinct Toward Life,” par. 1). The sweet memories have been beautifully sculpted by the artist to emboss the flowery creations symbolizing that memory always remain fresh in the minds of widows, friends, and relatives. The bullets have been used to adorn the photo frame having the pictures of soldiers sculpted to create the tiny bells hanging on the top of the image.

Image 2 Untitled (Flood) The image “Untitled (Flood)” was on display in the MCA Denver museum in which the artist, Barnaby Furnas had used urethane, dye, and pigment on a linen base (“Barnaby Furnas,” par. 3). The artist has been well-known for depicting the trauma and aftermaths of war through deep red color symbolizing the bloodshed occurring on the battlefields. This image is conspicuous because of the floating appearance of red color as if the fresh blood of a soldier is dispersing in blue water.

The spots, the streaks, and the high concentrations of red pigment catch the attention of the visitors. The artist has meticulously painted the details showing that every drop of blood of a soldier is precious, but it is spilled by greed, the ego, and the lust for more power of the brutal dictators. Image 3 Discolaria The image entitled, “Discolaria” is a beautiful creation of noted artist, Rex Ray, who used oil, acrylic, and mixed media on a linen base for creating this masterpiece, which was displayed in the MCA Denver museum of contemporary art (“Rex Ray,” par. 5). The image shows a perfect blend of abstract expressionism and pattern design in which the artist has tried to introduce a new kind of artwork that combines the features of fine art as well as applied art.

The use of contrasting and vibrant colors, such as blue, green, and red, adds life to the patterns of flowers and natural objects depicted in the image, which is definitely an ideal piece of artwork for decorating living rooms and bedrooms. The colors used in the image radiate happiness, strength, energy, hope, and peace. This image can be ranked among the best artworks.
